Is that the one Joe Biden was recommending? Very nice. I've always wanted a "twice barrel".

We don't get too many bears here but the seller was ready anyway. Said he moved from a high crime area and needed it for home defense. I say triple aught might be over kill but when protecting one's family its probably better to err on the side of excess.
I'm going to try it out on a car hood next weekend.

I believe double ought has the best reputation.

Yeah, for me it would be a general purpose defense gun. Can break it down and fit it on a bike. Does the job.

Shucks as I understand it, No. 4 at close range just leaves a hole. I figure that no one stays around for the second barrel, right?

The Remington Tac-9 is by far the best performing 00 buck shot.

We tested just about every brand and weight with a local LE agency and that was THE one. Makes a nice 'donut' shaped pattern at 25 yards with no "flyers".

What are your opinions on the federal #1 buck with the flight control wad?

What are you shooting it out of? Rem 870 or something exotic?

Almost done with my 10/22 build, took it to the range today to run a few hundred rounds through it...fun gun, love how cheap it is to shoot.

I'm going to add a bipod and call it done for a while, might do some trigger work in the future, the stock trigger is stiff....stiffer than my 870!

Blackhawk R/F Axiom stock
Sweet 22 scope (which lives up to its name....very nice for the $$)
Stock clear mags with Shadyrascals tri-mag adapers...very cool!
Weaver shoot-through 1" rings

Minor rant....much as I like the tri-mags, the reason I have to run them is the hi-cap restriction in CA. All it does in this case is costing me major $$. Those tri-mags (I have 2) costs a total of about 120$ and holds 30rds each.

So 2 30rd mags (essentially) for about 230 bucks.

At least the gunrest was cheap, found the design idea on Google, 5 bucks in supplies later.....

Few questions:
1: Got the scope sighted in pretty well, but I have problems with eye relief/deflection/distortion. (not sure if that's the term I'm looking for) Basically, the distortions your eye creates by looking into the scope...does this get better with practice? I noticed if I am really disciplined and stay still, control my breathing it's not an issue.

2. The sight is zeroed for 100 and 25yds, but the iron sights are off, it shoots high and to the right. This is concerning, to say the least, as they are fixed to the gun. I checked it a few times from a gun rest to be sure. It's off.

Thoughts?
