The I LOVE THIS GUN Thread

ttpete, I came up on a Mauser Schnellfeuer several years ago. As I recall, it had a detachable magazine. Is that the only "Broomhandle" with a detachable magazine?

Mike

I believe there are others, all later models, but most load from the top.

Getting closer.
Don't know if it failed or not, looks like their fingers got tired or they ran out of ammo.

I like the sight - that's an interesting variation.

Hope you can find 9MM for it. I was at two gun stores today, found .40 but not a round of 9 to be had.

Nice case.
The sight is similar to the ones I put on my Glock.

Sadly only made for glock and Sprigfield XD right now and soon some Sigs, but I like them very much.

As promised, photos of the free gun I was finally able to pick up today.

Now to decide if I should buy some ammoe and give it a go, or sell it new in box and get something more in line with what I would have bought if it was my own money.

I'd call that a win! You've got a good shooter there for free. But if it isn't your style, I'd say sell it before you shoot it.

There's a farmer here that has 25 'yotes hung up on his fence so far. Around here, they run them with packs of coon dogs.

Thats how we hunted them in PA too. Out here in AZ...it's too easy. More like target practice than hunting. Set up overlooking some land with a call about 100yds in front of you. Wait until the sun starts to set and go at it with the call. Doesn't take but a few minutes and they're running to you. In the pic above I had clear lanes out to 650ish yards...and dope out well past that. Hit it with the rangefinder, hold over on the reticle for the # of mils, a little for wind, and send it. Pretty foolproof if you do your part.

I'd love to have at them like that. I still have my high power match gun that I used for 1000 yard matches. It's built on a magnum FN Mauser bench rest action and is chambered in .300 Win Mag. I'd have to get a decent scope for it, something with a mil-dot reticle and work up a load and get sight dope for various ranges. I have access to a 600 yard range for that.

My new "Billy"

I have for the longest time been searching for a Beretta Billennuim to add to my Beretta collection. Only 2000 of these were produced in celebration of the Y2K, 1000 went to the US market and the other 1000 for world wide distribution. Indeed they are difficult to find and the unfired examples are a great investment.
