I guess it's good to have dreams.

I was amazed, it's lighter than my FNS-40 yet the barrel is longer - of course it's also about 1/4th the steel in it.

Oh well.

Buy it. I was on the fence, but one showed up used at my favorite heroin dealer. It's amazingly easy to shoot well, and a hoot on top of that.

Yeah, it's expensive. Yeah, the ammo is expensive and a bitch to find. But it's worth it.

Did I say you should buy it?

Sorry, the HD herd has more in common with the fancy dressed 1911-ers that Glock-owners.

It's called the Glock 36: the low-capacity, single-stack, .45 ACP Glock.

I think you mentioned that. I guess given the way things are going I could buy it and sell it in a year for the same money if I decided I don't like it or want to keep it.

He's not marking it up to obscene level so it's not a ripoff. Plus he's got ammo for it, so at least I could break it in a bit, even if I could not afford to shoot it more than a few times a year.

What with the ban of the high capacity mags in this state, it's probably a good buy with grandfathered capacity eh?

I purchased a PT92 from a shop a number of years ago. Am I still in the system,or will I need to retake the test in order to buy something today?

I have the opposite experience. Every range officer or instructor and almost every guy working in a gun shop carries one. You never ask any of them about them though or it will cost you 5-10 minutes of them telling you why they're the best gun in the whole world. Only have made that mistake 3 times

The only reason I don't have a 1911 is because I can't see spending $1200 on one pistol when I can buy 2 for that price.

I've been eyeballing this Kimber lately. Not necessarily one just like this, but the same size. I don't want a full size and I don't want the tiny one.

About a month ago, I was fondling one, but instead, I bought a Glock 23, 400 rounds of .40 ammo, and a holster.
The Glock, including 100 rounds of ammo and tax was $668
Another 300 rounds of ammo was $116
The holster was $40.

The Kimber was $1195 + tax

I saved damn near $500 by buying a "plastic" gun and I have ammo to shoot it.

Maybe I'll skip that trip I was planning to MOAB this summer and finally get a 1911.

Or not......

I hate decisions

Not sure about that. As a fancy dressed 1911 long slide owner who has never owned an HD I'd say that Glock owners have a lot in common with KLR owners.

Lot of harshing on the 1911 in this thread. The reason I like them is because I prefer quality machined metal components over stamped plastic and stamped sheet metal. Having said that I've also own an H&K USP Tactical in .45 and I like it but not as much as I like a quality built 1911.

I'm the wrong guy to ask. I thought the same thing: "Meh, I can always sell it. WTH."

But after shooting it, it's a keeper for me.

It's hard to see how you'll miss if the price is reasonable.

If my Glock does 1/2 as well as my KLR650 has I'll be a happy camper. Remember it's not the bike but who's riding it, same goes for guns.
