Mossberg 930!

Today bought me a new shotgun, first auto-loader for me.. can't wait to try it.
On the side note, after six months of waiting finally got my "unique" number from the FBI, to avoid the "further review" I was getting 50% of the time. Always approved but after a day or two of waiting. Yesterday was the first time I use it and STILL have to come home w/o a gun. It took less than 24 hours to be approve, but still annoying.. WTF should I do.!

Anyhow, here are some photos of my new gun!

I have one, a K-22 Outdoorsman made in 1932. Also have a model 18, think of it as a 4" K-22.

That was my VERY first gun, a cherry 6" 38spcl Diamondback. Sadly, also one of the only guns I have sold. I thought I was doing OK getting $450 when I paid $350. Of course nowadays, that is a $1500 gun all day long.

Very nice!!!

Mine was a 6" .22 Diamondback, first handgun. I won't go into the story, but just seeing a Diamondback like that brings tears to my eyes.

Not sure I've ever seen a scope on a shotgun before... Is it a red dot or do you only shoot slugs with it?

That one is a .22 and I paid a good chunk less than that

A great gun, but I don't think it balances as well as the 38/357versions. Too much meat left in the barrel makes it a little nose heavy.

A simple 1x red dot scope on a shotgun actually works really well, especially if you are doing slug work. Buddy of mine laughed at me when I took out my 18" barrel tactical 870 with a scope, but he clammed up quick when I was putting 3" groups downrange with slugs.

It's hell on the shoulder, though.

Just got my 870 build finished.

I haven't seen an 22's lately for price comarison, but I've very recently seen the 38 versions in the $1500 range. Cant imagine the 22's value would be much different. Heck, there might even be more demand for the 22 nowadays, than the 38.

that's a Shotgun scope.

4X32 with a VERY generous 4+ inches of eye relieve.
I try it in my 590A1 and is FAST to find target even with both eye open and from very close distance and up.

25 yards - trying to learn the sight picture - OK, I'll cop to using a rest. I hope my shooting will eventually get better - this aught to be a lot easier to get all in the black at this distance.

Next time I'll go to the longer range and try 50 yards and 100. Heck, no doubt I'll take a shot at the 200 yard gong.

My favorite past times are my DR650 and shooting. Need to knock the dust off of this rifle.

So what's considered the best load for these things, #4's or #6's? 2 3/4" work well, or do you have to go to 3" or bigger? Wonder if the ammo companies will come out with a special load and box, "Drone Busters", like the "Zombie Ammo"?
