We are building the .408 Chaytec. I think we are going to build it based on CZ550 .505 Gibbs. The barrel will only be $500 or so, and the rifle is somewhere around $800.

.408 ChayTec is a neckdown .505 Gibbs anyway.

Yes, it is in .338 Lapua... and it comes with a .308 barrel.

The P30L is great! I was having a hard time with the long DA pull and the free play in the SA action, but it has smoothed out a lot after a few hundred rounds and I've adapted to it. I went shooting with a friend who's quite experienced (also has couple of P7's) and the first time he picked up the P30L he put a complete magazine of fifteen rounds through a single ragged hole at about ten yards, and I'm sure he's going to buy one. It's an extremely easy gun to shoot well.

Rumor is that HK is only bringing in the P30S this year, which has an ambi-safety. There are a lot of HK enthusiasts who would rather not have a safety on a DA/SA with a decocker, so if you'd rather not have a safety you might want to try to get your P30 sooner rather than later.
