The Glock essentially has no safety. It is like a DA revolver in function but requires about 1/2 the force, possibly less depending on the gun, to fire. When you see a youTube video of a cop in front of a classroom full of kids blowing a big chunk out of his asscheek, what kind of gun is he invariably handling?

I agree, if you never put your finger on the trigger and never allow the gun to be carried in anything other than a rigid holster, and are somewhat cautious in how you holster it, you'll probably be okay.

They are, no disagreement there. I still stick to my previous statement. Keep your finger off the trigger and it will not discharge.

Since we are flinging anecdotes around right now...(and not you Xeraux) I personally observed a Colt combat commander, in the hands of a very experienced range master, containing no less than a manual safety, a grip safety, and piss-poor safety, shoot a large 45cal sized hole in a filing cabinet inside a sheriff's department detective division office...so how is the Glock less safe? The trigger actuator is the problem not the inanimate lump of iron (and/or plastic).

Yeah, it's kind of sad because a fair amount of the students in our A&P program are military (active, retired, etc.) and some of them have spent 10-20 years working on military aircraft. When they get back into the civilian world they have to spend a lot of time relearning everything they already know just to get a job, when really they just need a couple of courses covering FARs and some other subjects.

Because ANY gun that fires when one accedently pulls the trigger or the trigger gets hit is dangerous. Most guns with a safety don't fire if one pulls the trigger if the safety is on.

LEO's have had more NGs than ever before when they went to Glocks as well. I personally have only had one NG in my life, and it was with a Glock. I am damn glad it was at the range and the weapon was pointed down range.

Well I don't even have that excuse...I can shoot a 105mm or 120mm pretty well at range. I can effect effective tank troop tactics, drive pretty much anything on tracks and I look pretty good in green. Sadly for my chosen field it just doesn't help much. Oh and I'm pretty good with mortars too!

You sound like a perfect candidate for avalanche control on the slopes.

Nah... A Glock just seems like it was designed with no aesthetics in mind whatsoever.

This great little holster was one I bought when I first got into Glocks, been a great holster, held up better than my leather ones and look...total trigger coverage.

And finally, ND's...the N is the operative word...Negligent. If you are not negligent, they don't happen.

Some things are designed purely for function, some with both a function and form combination, some with only form, but the Glock is one that is designed for function only as far as my asthetic sense is concerned. A Glock is about as nice to look at as an Alternator from a car. Both might work great and do exactly what they are designed to do, but neither are pleasing to the eye in any sense.....
