I traded for a SIG-Sauer P250. It's a relatively unpopular platform, based on the limited accessories and DAO hate, but I LOVE THIS GUN.

The new-style grip stippling is sexy as hell. Regarding accessories, I had no intention of doing caliber and grip swaps, but now that I've been out a few times I am considering all sorts of combinations. I may trade another Beretta for a caliber x-change

I did read this piece by Ayoob recently, and it did give me a little more info on Glocks than I was aware of. In particular the NY-1 trigger option, which sounds like a safer option on the Glocks.

http://www.tacticalgearmag.com/page/...gear-exclusive

It's obviously a very pro-Glock piece.

Love this quote from Ayoob's report:

"This, plus strong emphasis from Glock and other sectors of the police training community on keeping the finger out of the trigger guard until one has actually chosen to fire, has made the Glock pistol a safe gun in competent hands. It can be argued that no gun is safe in incompetent hands."

Says it all.

His argument is a straw man. Change the last line to say this, and the error in his defense of Glocks becomes immediately apparent:

"It can be argued that no gun is safer in incompetent hands."

Pretty obviously, some guns are safer in incompetent hands than others; the Glock isn't one of them.

If I could type half as well as I can shoot, I'd be great. But you can't save yourself in a gunfight with a keyboard!

Massage Aboob?

Who actually pays attention to anything the man says or writes?

He's the media equivalent to Steven Segal.

Probably more than that. I seem to recall reading his articles in Guns & Ammo back in the 70's. He seems to be widely regarded as a whore willing to say anything for the money.

I actually like him. He is or was a nice guy when he was out at Gunsite once when I was there. He was a pretty damn good shooter too.

Edited for accuracy!

I find his shit pretty tired but can't slight him for doing what may well need doing. Seems to invent what-ifs galore though. Suck my left nut like I like, Masad.

The gunsmith I use really dislikes him. He says lots of technical points Ayoob makes are grossly inaccurate, and that he demands bribes from various manufacturers in the form of free guns to give them a positive review.
