There are redhawks in 357.

Or go for a single action if you are going for the long barrel stuff ... you will pay less than a double action.

If you are in the shooting line next to the guy with the flash hider is going to be loud and annoying.

Loose brass on your table will roll with every round fired by your neighbor.

Good point... If I wanted to hunt with it, a Blackhawk is probably a better bet anyways. Those .357 Redhawks seem pretty rare comparatively!

EDIT: And if I want a pistol that I'll only be hunting with, might as well get a .44...

Why don't you go ahead and buy the reloading supplies and gear now, and the gun later?

Because that's boring, and I don't have anywhere to do it right now

Which is why I generally run a silencer on my 10.5" 6.8mm AR.

Then again, everything that I've been shooting lately with the exception of my Serbu Super Shorty has been shot with a silencer.

The Flaming Pig does help. A guy I met at the range quite a while back had one on his 12 or 12.5 inch AR and it was much less abusive than one with a normal bird cage flash hider.

Not sure about the .357, but the cylinders on .44 Redhawks are a titch longer than blackhawks, allowing for bigger loads/bullets.

I have a Redhawk in .44 and it's been great. I have also been playing with handloads for deer that would not fit into a Blackhawk because the OAL of the round is too great.

And with the Redhawk you look like Dirty Harry instead of Wyatt Earp!

I had one and it was smooth enough and accurate and a natural pointer.

5 1/2 inch ... almost impossible to find a holster for it since it is BIGGER than an N frame.

no, not even at 75 or 100. Especially with a hotted up .357 round.
