I got my tax return in today so I'm making stupid plans for tomorrow. Go to gun show, bring $500 cash, and see if I can score a deal on a slick magnum revolver of some kind. I still haven't decided 357 vs. 44 but I think I'll just wait to see what's out there

If you are going to reload .44. If not 38/.357. They are not as fun to have if you can't afford to feed them.

For the revolver comments...

I'm more interested in Rugers as they are cheaper and more robust (at least from what I've read). I dunno if I'm gonna throw a bunch of hot rod ammo through it but I at least like that quality when shopping used. I guess I'd prefer a double action but if there was a crazy price on a single action I could go for that.

I could see reloading a few years from now, but not in the immediate future. So I'm kinda split on 44 vs 357 I have a 22 for when I want to throw a bunch of ammo out there so if I had a magnum maybe I wouldn't shoot it as much as I think I would. I think maybe I'm just gonna see what the best deal is.

You know what....it sounds like you're going to buy whatever revolver is the best buy....and there's nothing wrong with that. The .357 is probably more versatile and economical. I happen to like single action revolvers...it's only a gun, not a car or a house....buy whichever revolver "speaks" to you and enjoy...safe shootin'.

The best deal really depends on what you are going to be using for. If you are just punching paper you will find many .357's cheaper. If you are going to hunt big game with it (not that the .357 isn't capable) I would go for the .44. For $500.00 I could buy a very good used gun tomorrow. Don't get locked in to gun show prices. I've always done better trading at shows than cash. Also check out other traders are walking around with. you can make some good side deals.
