Anybody know of a way to improve the trigger on a Ruger Mark III without buying the Volquartsen kit that costs 1/3 what I paid for the pistol?

Check and see if there is a 'smith that works on them in your area. I can't see why the sear can't be smoothed up a bit. My experience with the Ruger was that the trigger was fairly decent for the cost of the gun.

A good gunsmith can improve it, but if you really want a good trigger, you just need to swap it for a High Standard 10X, Trophy, Victor or Citation, or if you want to spend a bunch of dough a S&W 41. IMHO the browning Buckmarks have better triggers than Rugers, too. Easily the best in an affordable .22 semi-auto.

That isn't that bad considering a buddy of mine bought an early Volq 10-22 which was all their stuff on a stock blueprinted 10-22 receiver in like 1990 for 1500 clams.

looks like mission acomplished....they would have to, it's a .22 rifle. Browning Buckmark, also available in one of the nicest looking .22 pistols in history.
