This one is stainless also. I went with the intention of bringing home a Henry Rifle or a 10/22. This one looked and felt better to me, and reading about it online, lots of people say it's quite accurate as is. Can't wait to try it out.

they are awesome, and have a Maelin Micro Grove barrel which is extremely accurate. Mine is more accurate than both my 10-22s were at longer ranges. It is also a little faster action. I have had mine for about 10 years and bought it from a buddy who needed money for $25.00! I'll never sell it unles I get about 200 for it, which I wont. BTW did you knw this is the best selling .22 rifle of all time by about 100 fold?

yours is the second gen stainless one like mine. The original GallO Matics were a lot different looking. Ours are conisdered the ones to get vintage wise for reliability and accuracy.

what vintage is yours? Brand new? Mines from 1968. Still shoots great.

I herd the early ones had problems with galling (sp). maybe the makeup of the stainless. The cool thing is I bought it when I lived in Truckee at Buds Sporting goods and Soda Fountain. Half guns/fishing stuff, half soda fountain.

I use the grippiest Skate tape I can get. Go tot he local skate shop and get a foor square for 3 samolians, it will do like fifty handguns and I have some on a 1911 that has been on ther for about 8 years. It never wears out.
