Since the days of the "Wonder Nines" I have been a fan of the 9mm with a decocker. After my P226 had a major malfunction last monday (Failure to fire double action) I thought I'd try something new.

Today I shot a SA Loaded Champion Stainless and I think I have been re-born

That sucker cuts a ragged hole and the single action only is a dream. I just have to retrain my muscle memory so I don't decock the damn thing when I re-holster...

Edit: I just asked the kid. He says he thought it was a Remington.

Ah ha, that solves it.

About $300 in "60%" condition.

Check the action and barrel first. Ask if there is any guaranty that it will function / shoot safely. If it's really just a parts gun or broken it's overpriced.

Spent the morning loving on my SA 1911 A1 Mil Spec, trying to make things easier with a bit of polishing. Got out the Dremel tool, a felt tip, and polishing compound and went to work taking the gun down to its component parts. Getting the mainspring housing back into the handle proved to be a PITA, but it'll be easier next time I'm sure.

There was a LOT of junk leftover from manufacturing everywhere in the guts! I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but the whole pistol feels smoother now that it's been buffed. The single biggest difference I can feel is the result of polishing the head of the safety plunger: When I got the gun new (a week ago) I couldn't flip the safety off with my thumb, I had to use the other hand and take the gun off target. Not anymore. The trigger seems to break cleaner now too.

What other easy tricks can be done to make it mo bettah?

Anybody own a Kimber Solo 9? I've been waiting for the Ruger LC9 and came across the Kimber. I know it's a lot more money, just wondering if it's worth it.

That thing was a TANK! PLUS, as beautiful as it was, I couldn't get used to the diff in feel between it and a commander / full size frame and I prefer a 1911 full size frame for daily carry....I'm weird like that! Here's what I carry daily,.
I hear you, brother.

Saweet. Kerpew! Jesus, if memory serves, like thirty odd years ago, a factory mag was like $80.
