Quick question that I should know. Just rather check with you guys before making a mess. Tried searching but our vast basis of knowledge here almost makes it more difficult to search out.

Can you check / remove, change clutch by tipping the bike on it's side and not drain the oil?

Doing the Tour of Idaho T1 in a few weeks and want to make sure my clutch is in good working order. No signs of it not being, but rather check then have issues on the trail when I'm somewhat in the back country. My squirrel hunting skills are lacking these days...

the rotary looks much more simplistic and functional. This is why I picked it up. much easier to mount too.

Roller shift pawl mod ( new Farkle)

Anyone know about this part?

http://www.factorypro.com/prod_pages...650,gb500.html

Apparently it's the same for all XR 650 motors. I bought one last week and hope to install in my R in Aug when I get home, am hoping it helps the shifting with the Rekluse on power off downhill glides which can be a tad notchy. I'm replacing the plates anyway so I figured while I have the case opened I should give it a try. I'll report back if I'm the first.

Headlight surround

[QUOTE=cognugget;21818242]ADV Monster M62 1800 lumens
ADV Monster rotary dimmer
EDS Tuff Lites
Baja Designs regulator/rectifier

This will be a bit tricky to mount but here is a quick mock up

That looks like the XR600L series headlight surround/numberplate combo.
Gather that is held in place with OEM rubber straps?
Can you supply info re cutout size for the headlight and possibly part number?
Many thanks,
JM-2008

Interesting, can't wait to hear what you have to report back.

Fingers,

never even heard of it, pls do report back once installed.
Interesting to see they say the XRR was supplied from 97 onwards, I think that's a glitch - first one's were from 2000 right?

I cross checked the part numbers for the shifter pawl on the Honda microfich, and the part number for the stock pawl was the same across the 650 L, R as well as the XR/L 600.

That's the stock US number plate. It's similar to the 600 but updated (for 2000). Curvier/sleeker.

Thanks for the confirmation guys!

Anybody have the quiet insert for the FMF exhaust now?

This bike is rediculous and wearing ear plugs day in and day out gets a bit tiring.

Might try to source a fix mysel by making one if nobody has one. Should have kept the ones I had for my Akropovic exhaust for my sport bike. No idea if it would have fit though.
