I plan on a Giant Loop and either reinforcing the subframe, or building a new chromoly one if I find the time. Not that worried either way.

Other than the cam, did you go with stock hardware for your rebuild?

Thanks!
I would do it since you have them anyways, i just got mine done, cut and grind seats install everything including guides for 125, it only took the guy a day and it came out beautiful

So I need new chain/sprockets before I head south. I plan to use Dirt Tricks sprockets. So how should I gear it? I want to carry 14&15 teeth fronts and change between the two. 15 for on road and 14 for off road. So what rear? 46,47,48?

If any help I've just bought 15/45 and will take along a 14 to gear it down slightly. It's for a trip to Morocco where it will be about 30% road, 70% offroad.

Finally somebody else is gonna make a steel subframe! the only other one sells for $340, so i'd spend $150 on one. i'm sure the other brand ones would sell more if they were not so dang expensive. i know some peeps would drop that kind of money like nothing, but i would say most of us XRR owners would not.

damn, why do you have to be in Australia?

My bike re-build/prep continues, with bits of bling starting to arrive!

Custom HyperPro shock; 2cm more travel, springs for 130kg laden weight, valved to suit.

Pretty much the same boat 340.00 is a little high for me but $150-$200 is more in my range

How is the 15/45? What is 120 kph like? That is the normal cruising speed on the interstate for me.

I was thinking $200 also..If it had a fenderloop to help support the fender and some soft luggage strap loops I might pay $300....

I sure hope that shock has a reservoir.

I've only ridden 50 miles, as is on my mates bike while mine is being rebuilt. It will really nicely cruise at 120kph, 130 even. You notice in the technical dirt sections or steep climbs, but it is manageable. I've not yet tried the 14 on the front which will be same as going 49 on rear, but I suspect it will slow it down enough to make a difference for technical terrain.
It will work for us as Morocco is all tarmac first but then all offroad, so swapping them is no issue.
