Just food for thought, when I bought my XRR from the dealer, I got them to put the light kit on, DOT tires, and get them to tag it, you can drive a tagged XRR home. Not all the pain in the ass shit that you have to put up with tring to tag it your self.
No hope for making it street legal in Iowa...I have my KTM640 Adventure for the roads.

You may get tired of the PM's though.
Bring on the PM's, I got tons of help on my suspension so I'm just passing it along!

***trade a shorty kickstand for a full size***

For you supermoto guys, I have a shortened kickstand for an xr650r. I would like to trade you for your full size (unmodified) kickstand. It functions perfect, but has a few scratches.

call or text me (Steve) if interested (408) 710-4291

OK, hopefully someone can help out a brother in need. I am trying to install an Acerbis tank onto my '01 BRP. Got to the step of adding the brackets onto the engine mounting bolts. Here is where I ran into the problem. The bolt is locked up tighter than a clam's ass. I tried everything I could to break them loose (including removing the coolant hose leading to the water pump to get more room), and now I'm starting to stip the 12mm bolt heads . I had to stop for the night before I got angry and unleashed my massive retard strength and totally fucked these bolt heads up. Anyone ran into the same problem with these bolts? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Yeah those mounting brackets are redonculus. Putting those on requires baby surgical hands and the patience of Ghandi.

In other words you're F'd cuz you haven't even gotten to the actual mounting part yet...

But good luck, I'll be rootin' for ya!

Eek Massive Retard Strength

Pavemike,

You will have to take everything out of the way, and then you have to use a hammer wrench. Between the hammer and the slow turning of the socket, this will get it loose.

+1 on massive retard strength
