Garthe, I love u and i hate u at the same time lol. Thanks for the link for the relocation bracket. I already ordered one for me, and one for my friend. Now i just have to convince my significant other why i need a new triple clamp and protector after i just bought one.

hey bikepilot, what kind of dampner set-up are u running on ur bike? I have been contemplating getting one. I like the scotts set-up mainly because its below the bar. I'm just gathering info before i make another bozo mistake like i did with the vapor protector vs. HDB mount. Post a pick if u dont mind.. please

Garthe,
what kind of set-up are u running with ur scott dampner? ie triple clamp, and risers. Did u have to replace ur stock top triple clamp, and how hard was it to mount the dampner? Did u have to install risers for the scott unit to fit under the bars? The PO had replaced my stock top triple clamp, and i am not sure who the manufacturer is. I know that the stock honda mounting holes for the odometer are in the same spot, but i believe that the risers are a little more forward. I had to trim down the edges of the vapor mounting bracket to make it fit correctly. I kinda like the billett top triple clamps that i have now, but i'm not sure if they are compatible. If i'm gonna end up replacing the top bar mount with the HDB set-up, i might as well plan to get the dampner added on on a later date. Like u said, i dont plan on getting rid of mine anytime soon either.
any info would be appreciated

I have the standard scotts forward mount setup - the damper is mounted above the bars and the arm points forward so it doesn't get in the way of the dip stick. Only problem is I want to try to move the bars themselves further forward and things get complicated from there so I'm thinking about switching to a submount setup.

The submount system usually brings the bars up higher which means you need to run a flatter bar bend to keep the bars where they are (assuming you like the bar height you currently have). It also makes adjusting the damper just a touch more tricky, but gets the damper out of the way for other stuff you might want to mount up there (like a computer/gps) and is probably more crash proof, though it'd be really hard to hurt a scotts however its mounted I think.

man, ya'll both have really nice rides and i love the scenery.

I think i prefer the sub-mount version a little better. It think it keeps things out of the way and protected a little bit more. Plus, i am running the vapor comp on my bike so i think the sub-mount gives me more room. I wonder how high of risers u need for the sub-mount. I currently have CR high bend renthal fat bars on my bike. I don't think i would mind them being a little bit higher. I am 6" tall so i dont think it would be a problem. thanks for the pics.

Very cool. So the damper itself is bolted to the lower portion of the bar risers/clamps and not the triple clamp itself?

Backdoc, I met my dad at Taylor Park in Colorado last summer for some riding. Awesome place and Texas is a whole lot closer than VA or FL

The dark pic is the night before V2R, I was trying to get the IRC tracker setup and headlight working.

I burned ALL my credit cards two years ago... Or should I say...they all burned me .

I have the two switch deal for the front break master cylinder in the garage. I really don't care for their hand guards, I have run Rally Pro's for years...Nothing really else to buy from them. I really bought the top clamp just to mount the TT billet protector from...It seemed like the best solution. The holes in the top clamp look cool. I won't mount any switches in them, KISS.
