I am not the only one to have this happen, so lets put are heads togetter and get it fixed. oh I ordered a new kick shaft and it will not be here till 4/9 so i have some time to think about this. They are... Truth be told...that light set up has to be rebuilt and doesn't work right now. It is a old BD set up. It has the Oscars (sp?) in them. I'm going to fix them up soon, so I can do some summertime AZ night riding this summer. I put the light on there just for the glory picture. Then the little one attacked the bike and mother and I had some fun with him. |

I agree with a large single head light. I run a pair of 6 1/2ish Hellas. I have broken them off a few times. Crashed and broke one off two minutes in on a six hour race, Three hours in the dark with a flash light duck taped to my helmet and one remaining HID spot light. One lamp with a bit more spread would be nice. Hi and Low beam would be nice also.

Thanks, had alot of fun that day. 12 mile loop, got in 12 laps when all was done. 8th place in the Iron man class.
This does't answer your question but I thought it may help. I ran my Hella's with 55 watt halogen bulbs at first. The HIDs are by far brighter then the 55 watts. I have H3 6000k DDM HID kits installed($35 for 2 lamps). If I were to replace the bulbs I would go with the 4500k(6000k too blue). I home spun my stator with 22 gauge wire(all I could come up with in short order). At idle, one light works great, no flicker, no dimming. With both lights on at idle they will start to flicker in about 20 seconds if I don't goose the throttle. Capt. Egregious screwed with this post 03-04-2011 at 11:40 PM |
