I usually hit reserve at about 60 miles on the stock tank. Damn Pigs suck gas like . . . What type of computer do you have for your Pig? Looks like it might be a Vapor. If it is, I can show you how to reset it. You should hardwire your GPS too, then it won't rattle off. I'm always up for a BRP ride since most of the guys ride on little bikes I'm always getting thrashed trying to keep up. Unless we go to Ocotillo Wells. I won't be around this weekend (WARPED) but hit me up sometime soon and we'll go. I'm in Clairemont btw.

New XR650R (BRP)
Whats up guys, I'm in a SoCal and I have not been riding in 8 years. I have been dying to get back in the dirt on 2 wheels so I picked up a @001 XR650R that was pissed off! Seriously; I have never riden one of these bikes before but I have always drolled over them. I had 1998 CR250R back in the day, and let me just say; DAMN! So here a list of my bike.
Clark $.3 gal tank 11.1 Piston Stage 1 cam by Hot Cams 68s and a 175 main GPR Steerring Stabilizer Pro Bend Bars Vapor Computer Big Gun Ehaust (It Sucks) Baja Designs under fender tail light Maxxiss Desert Tires (Not street legal, but I don't care) XRSONLY counter sproket cover promotion cables led turn signals, cusom mounts STREET LEGAL! BRP Upper Tripple tree Clamp resprung and revalved suspension UNI air filter completely uncorked 1.8 radiator cap xrsonly thermostat cyrca biller bark busters More upgrades to come I let my friend take it around the block, never ridden a dirt bike only cafe racers. Twisted it in second sitting too far back on the seat and decided that he was not man enough. He said that when he only saw the gas cap he had to let off. Sick bike, completely stoked. It can scare the hell out of me. I love it! I ride with a buddy of mine that is sponsored by red bull, he can take me through the high speed single track, but man. We hit a fire road or ride open desert and he is my bitch. I love my new bike and I ride it everyday.

That's retarded!
How many lbs does that total to for a loss? I'm guessing only 5 or so. Better off getting excel wheels and an aftermarket muffler first. Or pounding the sidewalk!

I have header and pipe, top triple tree, new chain slider, and to much stuff to mention. He does not have it listed, but when I send in my front and rear axles, so they can make copies in titanium, you can lose two pounds right there!! But if you have any better Ideas I would love to here them

If you mean 2 lbs combined for the axles, I could see that. But I stand by my statement, asshat or not! For the money I'd be getting upside down forks, supposedly they save weight (I've only read this, no idea on numbers), and major performance improvement dollar for dollar.

the weight is all in the motor. the chassis has to be heavier to handle that heavier motor. So trying to reduce the weight is pointless IMO !

the brp makes all the right (loud) noises for me, is it fast yes way too fast, is it powerful yes way too powerful, is it too much for me yes WAY TOO but thats why I like it. The first and only offroader I cannot lift on to my sump stand for maintenance. I think need to get one of those hydraulic lift units.
I noticed my rear swingarm has abit of freeplay up and down, does anyone know whereabouts they tend to wear but the whole unit/linkage probably needs a service anyway. That rally XR is smart, I love those wheels too as it brings the XR upto date with the newer machines. That faring is also very nice but probbaly way out of my reach (£££££) in the Uk. |

Thank you DOSCERVASAS! That's exactly what I was looking for. Sorry that you got such a negative response for helping me out.
For those of you who feel it's pointless to try to remove weight from an XR650R I might be inclined to agree if I rode in the desert where this bike was intended to live, but I don't. I ride in the woods. Sometimes very tight woods. I could get a much lighter bike designed to do the type of riding I do but that's not what I want. I love my 650R and intend on keeping it. If I can drop a few pounds, great. I had no idea how spendy this ti stuff was so I asked DOSCERVASAS to post it here because my e-mail wouldn't accept it. So, if anyone deserves any negative comments regarding installing ti on a 650R it's me, not him. Thanks.
