The red knob on top of carb is for adjusting the needle. To use this feature open up throttle all the way then push red knob down and turn the knob gently till you feel it engage in the detent in the top of the needle. While holding throttle open and keeping down pressure on red knob turn it left(for lean) or right (for rich). You will be able to feel the clicks as you adjust. When done release knob then throttle.(Such an easy carb to adjust!) Don't do this with engine running! To prime carb simply twist throttle a couple of times.Doing so squirts fuel into the cylinder.Mine usually lights off first kick when cold.Do not do this when hot(flooding may occur)

Pigpen you beat me to it. I is a slow typer!

XR650R Bars comparison

Don't know if this is the best spot to post this?

I was looking for some of this info about a week ago and unable to find anything. I wanted someslightly taller alluminum 7/8 bars to replace the stock steel ones. I'm getting ready to put the HDB guards/signals/mirrors on and they need the thicker tubing wall to thread an insert into the ends. Plus they look cooler! ;) Anyway, the Renthal CR HI bend bars are only about an inch longer overall and about the same pull back and about an inch higher. I may yet get some risers if I'm not happy with the height.

Hope this info can help some others! :)

I just noticed by total accident, that the boar is the logo of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Do a search for that, and the decals are all over the place.

4 clicks / revolution on that red knob! 1 or 2 is the most you may need unless you are going to the top of Mt Everest Left = Lean, Right = Rich

It's just Krylon paint. I buffed up the cover to a shine then sprayed with Krylon fake anodize paint. Not to bad but should have buffed to a polished finish to get the anodized effect, even held up to heat.

Disc Guards

Has anybody ever bent a brake disc without using a guard of some sort, whether a stock plastic one or metal aftermarket?
