Yeah, that is why I was asking. I wasnt sure what CDI worked the best for the 650. He has the 2650, which is the one we use for the swap, right?

Wanted to put in the new jet and needle and this happened. http://i.imgur.com/ZhdMW.jpg

Man they were not kidding about them being soft. It was like literally the last screw to break loose. I bathed it in aerokroil and took my time with the right sized screwdriver. I wonder if the hardware store has bolts with the right thread pitch so I can just replace these shitty screws.

Anybody got a suggestion what to use to cut a slot into it so I can get it out?

At least a small batch. Should know more about pricing later this week, but please post-up here if you're interested so I have some idea how many sets we should make.

Spent the last couple days tuning-up these old CAD files, making some small revisions and improvements. Incorporated the handlebar perch mounts that we developed for our KTM stabilizer mounts (patents pending). With this system, the handlebar perch height is adjustable (using different spacers and topscaps), and the way it's set-up now, there are four different positions that the handlebars can be mounted in: 1) -3mm, 2) +3mm, 3) +12mm, 4) +18mm. Although if you want to run an underbar-mounted steering stabilizer, you're pretty much limited to positions 3 and 4, but if you want to run the bars closer than that, you probably shouldn't be running a stabilizer under the bars anyway (too tall). Also streamlined the tripleclamps around the pinchbolts, made some revisions to the webbing and relief cuts on the underside of the tripleclamps, and a few other small cosmetic enhancements.
  • 26mm offset (vs. stock 24mm offset) in order to compensate for the reduced offset at the axle
  • geometry optimized for Scotts steering stabilizer AND forward-mount frame clamp
  • full range of steering (80 degrees - same as stock) & steering stops in stock location
  • handlebar position (height & offset) adjustable
  • designed to use KTM handlebar perches (any, including rubber-mounted PDHS perches)
  • re-use stock XR650R steering stem & bearings (no modifications)
  • no fender clearance issues

*snip*
I am interested if the price is good! (but don't make one for me yet...I'd like to know the price first of course )

A Dremel is your friend here, I'd use the thin cutting disc for it.

It's 0700000-2650, I believe 2619 is the stock #. I found one on Ebay, make sure and verify the number visually!

Didn't like the MT21 rear. Never used the front.

After running another Pirreli after the MT21, I will no longer run any more P tires.

Yep, first try the Dremel with the cutting disc to make a slot for a flat screw driver. If that doesnt work, then only other way is to grind the head off and try a left hand drill bit and/or an EZ out.

I've been using them on Adv 950 with good results...first time on XR.

Not waityng for great performance offroad, but aceptable traction for about 5000km duration and confortable for everyday 5 min. ride with kid to school.

Tnks Shibby for your feedback.

Their ok for guys that have to run DOT tires. Otherwise I just run full knobbies. Way better, and some last just as long. Maxxis Desert IT is a far superior tire if you can get away with it. Not great on marbles on gravel roads but what is.
