Heck of a nice ride today-- roads, trails, and weather. Felipe and I both had the heated grips on for a while

And nothing finishes a ride like

I can't speak for KL_ARRR, but I think we had a nice day too.
For me it was 12 hours door to door and about 350 miles following KL_ARRR around
(not so easy with his flakey GPS).

Action shot of tag get:

Some great old engineering:

(actually, there're two pieces of great old engineering in that shot)

Some new engineering (there were NO signs saying the road was now private):

New drop. Did anyone see a lake? I didn't:

That's some lucky lady you found, she spends a lot of time ignored and lovelorn
in the wilds of NE PA. Shame she can't be relocated to a state that cares.

Brought the duck a little closer to home. Located on Plank Rd. Just west of exit 13 on rt380.

Located in a Mine field

Not really......just hiding behind this post.

Nice, GearedUp

I had planned to put the duck up by the windmills, but a couple on a side-by-side informed us that we were on private road, even though there were no such signs lots of really nice roads out there though.

Ballpeen and R.M. assisted me in transporting Mr. Quacks to a locale more to his liking:

Here's how to join him yourself:
[fyi there's a nice picnic table / lunch spot within a 150 yards]

And since we all know ducks prefer water to sand!

Crying fowl

Fowl on my part (yes that is an intentional pun).

I completely forgot when I wrote the post up at home that after the location shot was taken we decided to move Mr. Quacks a little bit further under the bridge and out of view. He was still on the same support beam, but further towards the center of the bridge.

I am really sorry Bill. Can't believe I screwed my first dirt tag. Bah!

No big deal. I believe, considering the circumstances, that Bill has the tag. I think it would be reasonable for KiwiMtnClmbr to go and get the duck and deliver it to Bill. Or just let Bill pick a new mascot.

For the future, it is a good idea to have the mascot out of sight so that the random hiker doesn't pick it up. But when hidden, appropriate photos should be supplied.

Good thing Bill hadn't gone to Albany for the tag!

Also, make sure the mascot is secure
and can't be washed or blown away,
or eaten by rattlesnakes.
It does happen.
