My user name is cgjunk2. Same as it is on here. Thanks for the help. Going to be doing some maintenance soon, so it would be cool to have the oa's resources available just in case I screw something up :)

Upper: 29 N-m or 3.0 kg-m or 22 ft-lbs

Lower: 21 N-m or 2.1 kg-m or 15 ft-lbs

These are from the Kawasaki manual. Hope this helps.

Thanks mike and mike21b! Had to drop the forks down back to flush. Previous owner had them up about 10-15mm. I flipped the eccentrics last week and found that I was too leaned too far foward for my tastes with the forks that far up. So now that's settled. Just have to take it for a ride tonight.

The real plus to raising the bike is that now I can trust the side stand :)

I changed the oil and filter last night... I'm starting to get attached.

Get in touch with dave in wi, he spent MONTHS searching for one so he may have some leads for you. He's a pretty nice guy, I spoke with him a couple times trying to hook up with him to look at a CB750. Good luck

I searched at Craiglook, craigslist.thingweb.com, cycle trader and Ebay daily. I missed out on several because I'm kind of tied down between work, kids, the house, etc. Being able to drop everything and drive 400 miles would have made it easier. I was looking for a stock bike, and most of these have been modded. To avoid disappointments, ask lots of questions over the phone, request pics via email, etc. I always asked right out if it had ever been down (bad on this bike if it runs on the side) and if there are any problems with it. Most people will be pretty honest.

Also keep an eye on the for sale section of zrxoa, there have been some really nice bikes there.

Just bought a clean '05 last week in the ELR Green. Very happy so far. Quite a few things I really like about the bike, compared to others I've had.

Have been looking around for a rear rack. Anyone have one they want to sell? Renntec, Ventura, etc? PM or email me if you do! I am itching to buy one. Also, is Holeshot Performance (Dale Walker) out of business? Couldn't find a website that worked.

Go to www.zrxoa.org and join. Search for User: johnakay He makes racks for the ZRX. He is in the UK but if I remember correctly, it doesn't cost anymore than buying a Renntec rack.

www.Holeshot.com worked the other day for me. Maybe his website is down.

If you are looking for a jet kit, get one from Ivan's Performance. They work great.

I have a Renntec that I really like on my '05. You can also get a bag to go with that rack. Only bummer with my setup was that the spacers and bolts were raw steel. I had them powder-coated to make it a prettier install.... check out revsperformance if you are having trouble finding one. They may be hard to come by, most everyone I know that has mounted a rack keeps it..

Good luck with your search for a rack, and enjoy your Rex! They are a lot of fun, and after 15k on mine? I am still happy with it. A great all-around bike.

Anyone heard of a ZRX being converted to an adventure bike?

Not ideal, but add crash bars, knobbies, bags, and some kind of skid plate and you could tackle the easy stuff. When you got to the end of the trail, you could haul ass for home at 140 mph!!
