[quote=adaycj]I bought an 01 ZRX in 01.
I've ditched the obnoxious radiator brackets, painted the obnoxious bronze engine covers, and added an Ivan's kit. As a matter of personal preference I mounted a round headlamp and the 05 and later polished SS stock pipe. Man, I like the ZRX with the round headlight (above)... fhowell55 screwed with this post 06-22-2009 at 02:38 PM |

I am becoming a regular at zrxoa but just came across the zrx thread here. My touring experience leaves me awestruck in the shadows of others at ADVrider so I don't come around often.
I took this photo yesterday at the end of another test and tune session. While completing a valve adjustment and coolant flush I went ahead with the shortened muzzy megaphone and Ivan's stage 3 kit. Now I'm having the usual problems. As rich as these kits come I'm still popping badly on decel, and the megaphone is extremely loud. No more going for a quick trip down to the store without ear plugs, this pipe RIPS. Sorry, that's not beer in the ale pale.

MC Fred, do you have any more pics of the Eddie Lawson replica bike. I'd like a better look at that seat.

My '99 ZRX1100 - Love it!
I haven't been around for a while since I sold my DL650 but I thought I would come back and hang out. Anyway, here is my current bike, a 1999 ZRX1100. I am getting ready to add a luggage rack and topcase for commuting and touring. I love this bike but would take a V-Strom again in a heartbeat.
Changes I have made: Handle ber risers Mirror extenders Buell footpegs Greg Couch fork brace Sonic fork springs Corbin seat Frame sliders Inline fuel filter & shut off valve ChuckC carb screws Ivan's Jet Kit with modified airbox Yoshimura 1200 Can modified to fit ZRX1100 (I filled the bolt holes used for mounting to a 1200 then drilled and tapped new bolt holes that matched the 1100 flange. I also had to grind down the flange just a little.)

Just got a 2003 ZRX1200R, love it! Well, everything but the seat on a ride longer than 100 miles.

Have a question for the zrx riders.
I put the zrx headlight on my KZ in hope of seeing better at night. Bought a brighter bulb, but headlight beam is vague, to say the least. Have adjusted it every which we can, but no luck. Any tips to light up my night time world? Pic of my bike.

if you are already replacing a headlight, you probably aren't afraid of that 'lectricity stuff, so the next step would probably be to check the wiring. lots of instructions on the internet for wiring harness upgrades that use straight-shot from the battery, heavier conductors, and relays/fuses to get more power to the bulb (otherwise, it's just a low efficiency resistance heating system warming up nothing). here's an off the shelf version that should work with your kz--wait until he starts making them again, or put it together yourself: [http://zrxoa.org/forums/showthread.p...wiring+upgrade]
btw--the zx-6 on the left looks pissed. was the kz holding him up? |
