Hey, an original NL-thread
So did I
As a three-wheel fanatic you'll find me mostly at the hacks corner of this asylum and as designer/fabricator of some stuff for various adventure bikes (mostly the XChallenge at the moment) I also follow some threads in the thumpers department. I'm situated in the western (most crowded) part of Cloggyland at about 20 kms from a village called Amsterdam. ![]() Travellers with bikeproblems in the neighbourhood can always contact me to see if I might be able to help them out. I have some good experience of people helping me out on trips and still believe in the old "motorcycle brotherhood" ways. Though I have several solobikes and projects in my workshop and garage, I almost always ride my R1100RS outfit accompanied by my dog "Storm" CU on or off the road

Hello,
I've looked quite a lot of times, but never logged - so I'm in now as well. Riding a F800GS [3 Aug 2010] - today I will pass the 24K [km] [about 16K mls]! Love the F800GS, it's a real fun bike and no problems whatsoever untill now. Don't use the bike offroad [really], because it gives me so much fun onroad! By the way - the picture was in Jan 2011 - Bronckhorst river IJssel, which was a bit flooded. The bearings are still OK :-). ![]() ![]() ** GS 30 Yr Jubileum version; ** UNI Foam airfilter [directly imported from USA]; ** NGK iridium sparks; engine runs very smoothly, no vibrations around 5000 tpm ** Hyperpro [progressive] suspension mounted; ** Original BMW side panniers + SW Motech Evo 38lt topcase; ** Runs on Castrol Power RS Racing 4T 5W-40 [in consultation with dealer !]; change this oil every 13K km. Going to the Dolomites 23 Sep - 01 Okt Done this before in 2005 with R150GS; 2007 with F800ST. Rob |

Amsterdam bike shops
Hi all,
Some help needed: I live in India and ride a Ducati Monster 796. We don't have much choice in parts and accessories here since even the official Ducati and other shops do not keep stuff in stock. Which brings me to my point: I am travelling to Amsterdam on some work in the next 2 months and am staying at the Park Plaza Victoria, which is at Damrak 1-5. I was hoping someone who knows the area could point me to the best bike shop nearby, where i could buy leather jackets, textile jackets, gloves etc. I am specifically looking for a Ducati Nero leather jacket, so a Ducati store would be great, otherwise any big store with a lot of choice. Thanks in advance for any suggestions :) Shayne |
