I'd be hard pressed not to pick up a 10+ for the Eco mode and the heat management, not to mention the possibility of carrying over some warranty.

A lot depends on temperatures where you live... Here in sunny England a bit of heat from the engine is usually welcome!

Says me with an '09

Only have about 400 miles on it so far (picked up last Tuesday) but that Eco mode is really quite useful. You can feel the decrease in power if you try to get on it, but it's very mild. Cruising along at 55 in 5th was showing 43mpg or thereabouts.

My 2008 gets around 50 at 55 but as the song goes, i can't drive 55 so I average 38. Yesterday with a giant tailwind I was getting 45 @ 85

July 2012 tire change

Time for a pic!

The original tire came off at 4,550 miles and the replacement Roadsmart II is over 5,600 miles.

How do you like the RoadSmarts? Some fellow was asking about them on the COG Forum, and I don't think he ever got a response/review.

I'd consider trying a set, if they're better than the D205's I used to run on my C10.

Ok. So, the Z in the background gets a RoadSmart in the back - not the II version. It works really well with good mileage and confidence when healed-over. I'm on the second one at that spot. The front gets a Pirelli Diablo.

The Connie has the RoadSmart II's. I'm fine with the front, but still undecided about the one out back. This is due to what I perceived as "slips" in the cold weather and pavement. They could have been as simple as rolling over a single rock while cornering.

The front did well in the rain just west of Knoxville on I-40 last summer. The pace was swift. Pressure is important to keep up. (really important with 700+ pounds)

Had a ride a couple of weeks ago with temps in the low-to-mid 30's. Sun was out, and the bike was rippin' through the corners - no concerns that day.

Mileage is going well considering the weight and git-up-and-go of the Connie.

I'm at 455 miles on the new C14 now, and I can tell already that the BT021 tyres have GOT TO GO.

They're just not confidence-inspiring at all. I get a pretty sweet discount from the dealer I got it from, so might ask him about prices on Angel GTs, the Roadsmart II and maybe the PR3. Hell, at this point, I'd take Avon Azaros over these...(had them on the C10. Front is twitchy, and they last about as long as Kim Kardashian's last marriage...)

RoadSmarts

I did the original RoadSmarts on my C10. I must say it is a VERY impressive tire.

I did not get a chance on my C14. It had PR2s when I got it. And well, they'll be on it forever now .

But I think they were similar in dry/wet as the RoadSmarts I had on my C10.

Heat

Sorry, but i still dont get this heat thing.

I have ridden my 09 in 100 degree days for hours at a time.
I dont find it to be any worse than my 02 750 Nighthawk was.

I have only thought it was warm on my right leg at a long traffic light.
So i just dont put that foot down.

So your 09 is as hot as a 750 nighthawk.

I wish my '10 threw some heat in the winter. Otherwise it's nice having the cooler '10+

Yes. Stock tires were pure shit.

If I weren't so cheap and felt guilty of tossing barely used tires, I would have swapped them at the dealer before taking delivery.

So I ran the bike hard and did a few burnouts to kill them off as soon as could.

Went with Power Roads 2 myself, new tires really made it into a much better bike.

I'm with you. Yes, there is some heat in hot weather when the fans are running but if you are ATGATT then it's no issue...

I thought it was going to burn my toes through my Oxtar Infinites when I rode a friend's 08 prior to buying my 10.

The stockers are great if you enjoy "unintentional drifting", through turns.
