Mine used to look good from about 2 feet away. Now it looks good from about 10-15 feet away. Year round riding in the salt belt has taken it's toll on the crappy soft Kawasaki paint.

Check out the leading edge of the front fender on the fork tube. It's slowing turning white from all the fine paint chips.

CB, you really get out there and r-i-d-e! My sucky job doesn't lend itself to moto-commuting and I'm jealous. In the past, I rode everyday and going home was just an excuse for a little excursion. It was awesome.

Paint...In spite of the Connie color choices being great, I have to admit that it is soft paint. I have quickly rubbed a light haze into the tank with my coat, BUT that is my fault for wearing my old Beemer textile coat (it is 3/4 length) as opposed to a properly cut "jacket" that doesn't blouse out like the "coat". Guess a tank protector would help too.

All the more reason to try flat black some day!

A good, hard clear coat would have most likely done the trick preventing errosion and scuffing. Seems mama Kaw spent the finishing budget on the premium badging.

My 2K8Z1K is clear-coated but, uses vinyl letters (clear-coated over).

An afternoon in the garage and I have it back up to "looks good from 5 feet away".

Not too bad for 40,000 miles, many of them dirt, ice and snow covered.

Looks great! I like it without the badges too.

Hey, are those deer whistles by the headlight?

No badges looks slick indeed!

Good eye FI, but I think those are CB's roadrage-cager eliminators mounted on the port fairing (seeing as how he ditched the factory torpedo tube).

The paper boxes across the street are not effective deer whistles at all.

It does look familiar...like mine, but cleaner!

I'm almost motivated to tackle a detail job. If I can wash bike really well once a year then all is well in my world. It is worth it just to get a thorough inspection done. If the rain keeps up I might have to spend some time in the garage this weekend.

Mine is about an 8 foot clean. After two winters worth of riding, the wheels look like crap and are this side of impossible to get clean. The salt ate up the finish.

I want to powder coat my wheels. Love that black wheel look on the new ones. Maybe this coming winter.

really? Probably you are not sliding it from the enough back for the central hook to clear the bars.

BTW, I do not have any issue with the stock seat but... my favorite pillion/wife hated it. She is fine with the Sargent seat.

Just had to remove my mid-cowling badges!

They are nice in their own right, but something about the placement doesn't click for me. So, off they came.
