At least I've still got my clothes on!

I sure am sorry I missed this gig.
Saturday, I went to charge and start my bike (sheesh, I hadn't ridden it for like, 13 DAYS !! )
It would not start, no click, no lights, no nuthin'.

Then I remembered the last time I rode it, it would not start at the gas station with the bars cocked sideways, and until I turned the bars straight. Then it would just die at full cocked turn. Uh-Oh, got a pinched wire, or a short.
Well, I finished the ride with Mustangshelly, with the theory that I would not turn the bars that far while riding

Then I parked it and forgot about it.....
.......while commuting with wifey for two weeks of very hard rain and/or very heavy morning frosts.
Well, turns out that 5 of the 6 wires from the ignition switch were now completely BROKEN where they had been pinched while turning in & out of the frame for over 4 years. After following this harness deep into the bike's throat, back to a plug, I found this bike only uses two of those damn ignition switch wires anyway, and all is done through relays and such. That's how I got away with those pinched wires for so long.

I figure this was all good practice for the April Fools ride;
when I forget/lose my keys, and have to hotwire this sumbitch

Since my Sunday was already a bust, I figured I'd do some of the farkles I had stacked up in the Garage.
New stock euro headlight with new UltraVision HIDs. Holy Shit Why did I wait so long ?
Barely used Scott's Damper and BRP Triple Clamp with MUCH better handlebar geometry. Holy Shit Why did I wait so long ?

I missed the meet up last night, is there a ride for this week end? School starts Monday and it would be nice to ride with you F'n Fs before getting consumed by school again.

For those future tripping I get the last week of March off for spring break, last years Crooked River Camp n ride was fun. I'd be up for something similar this year.

IN !!

Same spot? It was a GREAT location; with no camping fees until April, and hardly no other foolhardy people.
Got me some cool & schweet new camping stuff to try out

I wanna go for more than that three days of last year, though.
This year shall likely be two days there and two days back. This year's Adventures are ON!

OMB and I talked last night about getting my new bike dirty. I'm definitely up for an off-pavement (but not off-road -- no single track for me quite yet!) ride this weekend. Got nothing specific in mind, but have been thinking a lot about exporing some of those roads off of Simonsen Rd (43.899871,-123.282394).

....and then OMB and I talked about a visit to the Medaris' grave sites... yes as in "plural". Seems the boy and father who died 6 years apart are buried in the same neck-o-the-woods.

I know Simonson Rd area a little bit and wouldn't mind learning more but am up for what ever, though as Kevin said would prefir to stick to double track rather than single track.

I know nothing about that site, but it looks like it would be an interesting ride! I'm up for anything but single track.

Let's ride!

I see Dead People Excursion this Sunday? We could toss in a couple old graveyards into the mix also. This Adventure could either start from my house or the Noti Pub , makes no nevermind to me, you guys call it. While your at it call the launch time also. This ride has the potential to land in the 150-200ish mile territory depending on ambition and curiosity. Saturday is chewed up with a trip to the dump, something about turkey bones and oyster shells stank.

Single track is a great way to bond with your new steed......I know this interesting 3 mile downhill past a waterfall that ends up in a swamp, you'd do fine, the rut down the center is deep enough that you won't have to worry about sliding off the trail and the trees are close enough to help you scrub some speed.

If you don't mind a n00b joining in on this trip I think I can make it.
