Truth be known, apparently West had pushed my basket slightly over the edge of the table while I wasn't looking, such that when I stabbed my fork into a runaway clam, it launched the whole thing into my lap. Lucky for me, the 5 second rule is alive and well at the Salty Dawg!

That was one big steep logging show . You're right that is not too many miles past the intersection of Fugawe and Fuguszatgo which is apparently pretty damn close to something called "Dunno". That was also near the start of the "How much farther is it? My fuel light is on" noise I kept hearing..

Yep, somewhere past the missed turnoff to Harlan, according to a local kid who saw our roadside convocation and investigated. "You missed it a couple turns back." And, "yup, Alsea is ahead of you" as he wheelied up the road.

Fugging showoff.

First ride of the year

I'll add a few shots of my own:

Yeah, it was cold

This one's for you, Peterman - all warm and snuggly in your bed

Still frozen in Swisshome

This is where four guys wearing glow-in-the-dark shit try to talk Dakota out of jumping just because he likes black. It ain't worth it!

On the way to Yachats - the weather was a little bit better by the big water

Where EdRidesBikes who became just Ed now becomes EdFlysaKite. Bonus points for anyone who can identify the strange sea creature on the shore in the background that appears to be pissing in the ocean!

Here is a close up of the aforementioned sea creature, complete with winter headgear

Lunch at the Salty Dawg in Waldport. Highly recommend it!!

The old Hull-Oakes log pond in Horton has improved over the 40+ years I've been playing there. Pretty nice place now!

Unfortunately, the rest of the ride was completed at a high rate of speed in the dark, neither of which are well suited for Kodak moments. All in all, a great day spent with great folks!!

It's not a sea creature, but a Gnome; here he is in his mountain outfit.
(bonus bonus points if you can I.D. the tall guy in the red hat)

and here in his drinking outfit

Horton log pond... So, we crossed paths.

We came down Swamp Ck to the Round Barn on hwy 36, east through Blachly, north to Horton, east on High Pass, then north on 'un-named great two track' to Grimes Rd, Nwest on Furgeson, then down to Monroe in the SUN and 45 deg.

REGO left some exciting tracks on Grimes Rd. Big frosty bit right in a corner. Lucky there was some traction filled gravel on the outside of the corner.

Laugh Jan. 5th ride

Called the best ride ever by some, for me it started out at 16 degrees, it was FFFFFreaking cold. Then I rode into freezing fog. By the time I reached the cafe, I was white. I needed to stop every 2-3 minutes to warm up my face, as I had to ride with the white iced can't see through shield in the up position.

Ate food at a cafe, we were slow to leave. Heat pads were share, THANKS!!

After a few minutes we were on top of the world, well, at least locally.

I asked if any had a spot that was warm?

Later, a few minutes in the sun was needed again.

I noticed they all had the same tailor.

Another rest break came when a tire went flat.

Once again I was voted #1.

The 5 hour ride route taken.

Done, done, and what could be more pussy than having your BMWs on a trailer outside Starbucks? Seriously though, I've heard lots of horror stories about immaculate beemers taking their first nap in the Starbucks parking lot, not going to happen to these two beauty queens!

Anyhow a big thanks to Miguel for the invite and OMB for everything else! Fun was had!

It was just far enough! Lesson learned there for sure. When thy thirsty BMW is inith Towne, thou shall fuel up. Thanks for having me along! I'm looking forward to next time. I'll be carrying a bit more fuel!

That!!! is a classic picture!

You guys were great to have along and it was nice having your Space Shuttle Landing Lights bouncing along behind me helping my lil' orange XR headlight.
