Fried Ryday!

I have a 13 teef count her sprocket somewhere in all this stuff, anna 14 toof too,,,ride up to Huckleberry ,,swap front spkt,,ride trails, fall down in spite of best efforts avoiding fall-ure,get wet in puddle,,swap spkt back to stock,,ride bike cold and wet, with muddy, broken, and missing parts,,allah way home!
or
Ride with no spare parts or rescue vehicles following, up to a point of impasse and snow blockage,, up any number of gravel roads,,,or all of them! gravel, gravel, to gravel.
or
get the radio vehicles set up and in position, sweep the pavement of downfalls and debris,,,roll out the sport bikes,, and go rail the secret road race track in the forest,,the location of which I will not disclose on a public forum,,,
or
yer typical ADV ride of no particular goal or destination other than food at some point along the way, and "don't make me be late so my wife scolds me",,,
I can think of lots of places to ride,,,up lost creek, or eagles rest, on and on,,throw a dart at a small map,,ride there where the pointy part sticks in.
Larrison rock road clear of snow?,,don't know!

all the weather guessers are wrong and it will pour rain tomorrow,,so I'll be playing with sparks and fire anyhow,,unless they are right, and the sun does git thru to clowds........gimme time for my oatmeal at least,,,,,

My observed weather is clouds on the ground, so it probably didn't rain ALL night... but it did for a while.

Think we can get above them and find sunny snow fields?

Well, THAT was fun!

Managed to connect up the 18 and 19 road systems, watch some helicopter logging, and enjoy lunch on the patio before the rain started falling.

Tim got in some target practice...

We rode through some snow...

We saw some pretty water...

Struck poses...

And watched a master at work...

We had a good lunch at Brewer's Union in Oakridge, but when the first drops hit, we knew it was time to head for home. North Shore Rd alternated between new gravel (ball-bearingish) and rutted slick mud. Made for an interesting ride .

Thanks, TBlume and Peterman for a fun ride!

Well, that was a perfectly good waste of a day,,
Good job on missing the rain,,except for the last bit on the way home! just barely soaking thru the liner, left elbow.
That new front Heidenau had better wear for a zillion miles,,because traction in adverse conditions is NOT its strong point!
Back to TKC80 fronts for me!
And the new gravel humps!,,like they took all the new gravel for the entire length of road and dumped it all in that one section! WTH? I couldn't tell if that "other stuff" was slick,,or just weirdly rutted,,either way, it wasn't me steering the bike!
Thanks for the day guys,,I even enjoyed the expensive beer!

That was some sketchy log truck pumped up, slot car track mud. Not my favorite.

but! Puddles got splashed and worked on steering the bike with the throttle and connecting the apex's on fast gravel, even coasted down to that bridge for a different skill: early speed scrubbing at a minimum and carving the ditches to maintain the race line!

I wanted yellow but didn't want to wait for them to find one, so settled for KLR green and black. I thought about a black/gray one but decided if I park funny I'll want to be seen or found, don't-cha know. I'm getting it from Sublimity Power sports, so not too far away. If you see a green KLR with a paper plate getting flogged on backroads east of I-5 by some Cheshire cat grinning manic in a red and black power ranger suit, that'll be me breaking it in the way I know how.

Were'd you find a used 2014?

I've never known anyone that bought a new one.

It won't look new too long with my commute, lots of gravel roads between here and the coast. Now where did I put the Garmin mount and Warm and Safe wiring? Got my luggage needs covered with a Giant Loop, a converted 4 gun pistol case/tail box and a 20 year old tank bag....

Back to TKC80 fronts for me!

Those K60's wear FOREVER. Got a set on going on probably 5k miles and have at least that left. The front has no grip in bad conditions and the rear has no grip in sloppy conditions. Not sure why people love this tire. If you never go off pavement, ok, but anything more then a little gravel and they are out of their element.
