No. Something is amiss. How old is the chain? Might be time for a new one?

Is that a B 600. I have an 03 in yellow. It has been a great bike.

Gearing

Anybody with a b12 drop a tooth on the rear sprocket? I'm due for a chain/sprocket replacement and was thinking of getting a 44 tooth for the rear

RE Gearing

I did on mine several years ago and was not happy with it. It probably makes sense if your slabbing it often, but I don't ride like that often. I prefer secondary roads and canyon carving so I went back to stock and am pretty happy. Just my opinion YMMV.

Agreed. I only test rode the b12 but the stock gearing seems spot on. My b6 on the other hand, was pretty buzzy with the 15/47 sprocket set it came with. The speedo was pretty far off to. I've been happy with 15/45 and even happier with 16/47 - just had to grind a little material off the front sprocket cover. The speedo reads very close to the gps.

If that was aimed at me... Yes it's a 600 an 01.

I have an 03 600 I let him ride awhile back and he decided it would make a good step up bike. He has a ninja 250 right now.

This one is mine.

Thanks. The seat pad is just a cheap ATV pad from Wal-Mart. It doesn't do much for comfort (although fox102 also with a B1200 swears by it), but it hides the tear that was developing in the front.

Hey Guys,

My 2000 Bandit 600s last week on Beartooth Pass - on my first long-distance trip. 4,400 miles over two weeks - Pittsburgh, PA to Montana and Wyoming through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The bike ran perfectly, not a single problem. I'll be posting a trip report later in the week.
