Funny Bandit Review

Here's a good Bandit review which waxes a bit sarcastic about overpriced Uber-Tourers....

I own a 1250GT and have been on week long road trips round scotland a couple of times. Also do weekend camping trips occasionally, usually bank holidays. Its my second bandit 1250, after losing the 1st one I didnt even bother shopping around for other bikes as the GT bandit does what I need. Also ended up being forced to do 200 miles between fuel stops once, so not to bad on fuel either.

Cool2

Hi all,

I didn't see a section for the "Hi, I'm a n00b" so I'm starting here. This is me and my bike K1 B600S.

As far as trips my longest is about 100 miles, but I have only has a license for a week and the bike for 3 days. Anyway love the site. Ride on.

Watch yourself, I got my first bike in school, and the longest trip I did was a one way ~500 miles from NY to OH. When I moved to TX, I got myself a new bike, and for the next 8 months or so didn't go farther than 200 miles probably.

All of a sudden, some people here encouraged me to get to a little get-together, and before I knew it, I had filled my boxes, strapped a dry bag to my seat, grabbed a tank bag and CamelBak, and was heading on a 1k mile each way trip to meet folks I had never talked to other than on this site.

Now I want more, and am plotting how I can take two weeks off from work.

I'm already looking at a trip this weekend. (not a trip some people commute farther) it's about 120 miles one way. I've already done some motorcycle travel as a passenger so I know I'm getting the bug. I went to Colorado from Michigan when I was 9 months old in a sidecar... It used to be how I thought people lived... ALL people. Lol. Ok I'm done thread jacking. :)

I may not have a Bandit, but I don't think the local residents here would mind you talking about taking a first epic trip.

Picked up an 07 1250S last week, 8500km, full Givi Keyless luggage and a few other things for a very good OTD price. It's been raining constantly since the night before I got the bike so I've only managed to put about 400km on it so far, and still haven't had it on a dry road. Nice motor, handles well, compact and light to move around compared to the Strom, ergos are pretty comfy, power is very manageable, 55mpg (Imperial) on the first tank. The screen has to go as it funnels the wind and rain straight into the chin vent on my AGV. Not sure what to replace it with, but probably the Givi and maybe an MPR laminar wing if needed. Looks like more rain for the next week, so it will be a while before I can really put it through its paces, but so far I'm impressed with it. Took a pic in the garage as it is pouring outside.
