Next time your up here we really need to go to Mendocino National Park for some riding.
yup x2 on that

I know it will bumpstart, remember when I had no kicker? cause my dumbass didnt loctite it?

anywhoo

Ive tried many times on these types of condition

going down the hill, and turning around is even more hard than kicking on the spot...

I use the perfect triangulation of the wheels, a rock behind the wheel, and the kickstand to get the perfect hot start kick! jajajja

its retarded but it works for me

remember too Im a short mother...and even trying to get the bike up the hill walking it in first is beyond my abilities most of the time

its just too big

jajajaja

but I gave it my all

and finished and thats what counts

I had fun

just cursed at the bike a bit on the second stall

jajajja

thanks guys

really would be fun to hang out and ride together!

What could possibly be the reason for wanting to dye fuel red ?

Cool pics

Looks like it has an aftermarket tank, and dual sport kit. He told me the bike was running when he put it up, but has been sitting for a few months. He does have the title for the bike. I didn't think to ask what year it was, but it appears to be a late 90s model.

He's only asking $1100, seems like a decent deal if it's not a total piece of junk. Anything in particular that I should be looking for or should ask about? I used to own a 94 XR650L so I'm somewhat familiar with XRs, but that was about 12 years ago.
Looks pretty nice! Nothing special to check out. Just the usual running and shifting, oil leaks, oil level, suspension. But at $1100 it looks like a winner!

So far I've only had a motorcycle in one continent other than Europe, so yeah, I really do have to travel more

How do you guys recommend cleaning up my buddy's engine. Were these engines bare metal or painted? 95 600R. I can't tell if it just needs cleaning or if paint is flaking off.

dudemize- That looks like a good deal for that bike. It looks like it's equipped with a full aftermarket exhaust too. The hubs look to be black so it's an early '90s model.
I agree with Alaskajeff, it does look like a winner, but do check out the basics first.

The main cases and top end were bare aluminum. The outer clutch cover and stator cover were painted kind of a silver.

Sweet. The clutch/stator covers look really good, but the top under the fins just needs cleaning I guess. Thanks.

Dudemize, check the countershaft sprocket for play. The fix for a bad countershaft is a 150 in parts + 10-20 hours depending on your wreching ability.

Or several hundred if you have someone else fix it. It's a common problem on the 600 and 650's.
