Royal, I think I did that about 3 times...
It just so happens that you've got 2 of them back to back here... ![]() Sorry about that, I'll go back to the drawing board.

funny thing... the are sold as shinko244's but have GoldenBoy stamped on them ![]() as for performance im likeing them, on the fireroads, gravel there great, not to bad in the rough and wet stuff but arnt really aggressive enough for the mud... but still ok, i like them on the road bit iffy in the wet like most knobbie tires and im finding it predictable and enjoying the slide into corners under brakes in the dry... works well with the 600 for rear wheel steering ![]() ive only got it on the rear as i prefer AC10s on the front, ive done 2500kms and its not quite half worn so im happy, i will be buying another when this ones worn. |

Hey everyone, this is on my XR650L, but I'm running a XR600R muffler on it so I thought you might want to check it out.
Got my muffler turn-down finished up. It works better than expected. The XR600R muffler with the insert removed has about a 1-7/8" outlet. I used the same size turndown on the end cap, so the turndown is straight through 1-7/8". At idle and low speeds it is somewhat quieter. Definitely not as harsh sounding. But it is MUCH quieter to me while riding at higher speeds (about 25 or so).

leaking needle and seat...
G'day XR owners, has been a while but am back riding the old girl and have a problem I'm hoping some one has also come across and may have a solution for....
I'm running an Acerbis 22 litre tank and when full, running or not, petrol is seeping(pushing?) past the float and dripping slowing from the over flow. Is this a case of a worn needle and seat? has anyone else has this problem? Cheers Roost. PS : heading to Andy Strapz for my new panniers Saturday !

One of those, sounds like. Get a rebuild kit off ebay for $30 that should have a bunch of parts to replace all at once. Or just tear it down and clean it, that usually will fix it! Treat your carbs like your genitals - take care of them and they'll take care of you.

Thanks.
Thanks peoples ! Will get a rebuild kit.. dunno why but this never even crossed my mind before (doh?).
I had dramas with this carby in the past before realising after a clean out I had installed the float upside down ! Hey Duxrneet, are you aware a few members are trying to kick off a Melbourne Adventure riders group? http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=860438 Roost. |

Thumper Racing insert
Does anyone here happen to have a Thumper Racing exhaust insert for their stock muffler?
I am trying to find out the specs on it, like how long it is, and what size outlet it is. I think it's a 1.25" diameter, but not sure.
