You definitely need snow-chains. (didn't want to suggest a drivers-lesson )

Richard...somewhere I have a picture of one of my old yamaha based rigs that is just a lump of snow. Someone titled it 'Yamaha abuse' .... oh well.
That XS1100/Motorvation rig in the picture above only sat about 4 inches off the ground . I had made it so it could be raised pretty easy but slacked off and didn't bother with it that day. I came out of the shed pretty fast and it stopped when the sidecar frame climbed up on the snow and that was it. Shoveling does really suck on a large sidecar. Snow chains? I think they woudl have worked well if tied to the bumper of my truck
Here is a pic of a little more sucessful day with XS650/Velorex coming back home with a Christmas Tree in the sidecar. We live a mile off the hard road on a ridge an our 4 wheel drive Isuzu woudl not make the hill due to ice and snow being a real mess. I took the rig and told my wife if it woudl not come back up I would leave it in the neighbors barn. Darn rig came up with no real issues.
Sorry for such a lousy picture/

Marc, I needed a photographer today, should I come pick you up next time?
You'll like the improvements to the new ones enough you'll want one even more.

Dang,

I was out and about picking up a bike for another inmate and actually had my camera with me. I had a 2004 Patrol and for the life of me cannot figure out why I sold it. Oh yea, there was that other bike I just had to have.

Cheers.

Somewhere I have a picture of me single-handedly digging a 100 yard path of just over two feet of snow so i could get my Tourist out to play a few years back

I'm sad that my Sporty is in a perpetual state of disrepair. if the snow does come it will be a scramble to get the carbs cleaned and the POS battery cut-off switch rebuilt or replaced yet again. The GS-Ural combo does make me neglect the beast more than it deserves

Can`t bring myself to cut one of my babies up Dave.. I don`t think either of the 950`s would make good outfits as the power comes on a bit too high in the rev range..

Or I`m just looking for an excuse to buy another bike...

Made it to work and back. Roads were very icy today, temps in the teens all day. S'posed to get colder and dump more snow so I got a new knobby and filled it up with machine screws.
