Finally decided.

After much lurking and reading of these pages, I pick up a new Ural Gear Up this Thursday. I considered a VStrom 1ooo to hack but had a brain fart over the subframe etc. I have a sidecar which is a Ural copy that I was going to use but jumped in and splurged on a new rig. So anywho its now only 2 sleeps till pick up day. I just hope its not one of those built the day after the red square parade when everyone is hung over!!

I am in the study right now. I must say I was feeling a bit Indian about the Ural. that is to say I had reservations, but having read so much here I feel happy about the purchase.

.There's a ural outfit comes down from Sydney to the Historic aircraft museum ocassionally.Looked good to me.

I was thinking of the desert camo but its just a bit too BRIGHT. so went with the green. pics will follow shortly.

On any outfit you get noticed, but I suspect the Ural will be a little more noticeable. I wont be using it as a getaway vehicle, for more than one reason.

A new green Gear Up, you're in for a treat. I love my Tourist, but the 2WD will be my next purchase. Even though 2WD is normally not needed, it is nice to have just in case.

IF your not retired the biggest problem you'll have to overcome is going to work instead of driving that rig---ask anyone who owns one they're VERY addictive
