OK this has NO bikes in it....But photos..

And as I said before This is my post

ThanksGiving cooking...

I use to get up in the wee hours and cook n bake everything in one day...
Well I have gotten wiser as I have gotten older..
Now I cook/bake for 4 days .. It really makes it so much less stressful for me...

Monday I started my breads for the stuffing Yes I bake my own breads ,we stopped buying store crappy breads..I also made yeast Dinner rolls..

Tuesday I baked a Pumpkin Pie from our own pumpkins... You can see we had already hit the pie ... See next to the flowers...

Wed I made the stuffing, The greenbean casserole, Fresh whole cranberry sauce, And mashed up the Cauliflower (NO white potatoes this year) also made a pudding pie from scratch...I don't use package pudding (yuck)

Thursday morning I start it up early..With making a few snacks for the day...

Don makes the devil eggs...

I make the candied Yams, put the turkey in my rotisserie around noon...

About 40 mins before the bird is ready I stick the other stuff back in the oven...Of course it did have a tent on them...

I start my meatless gravy

The Turkey is ready,I let it spin for a while with out heat....

I'll tell ya for a nonmeat eater my rotisserie is the greatest thing...

I use to do the slow oven thing with basting for hours on end....

You can see that the Cauliflower looks just like Mashed taters !!

L-R~Whipped Cauliflower~Veggie Stuffing~Candied Yams~Fresh Cranberries~Green Bean Cass~Veggie Gravy

My plate oh yes I had crab legs...

Don's Plate

And to top it all off with a nice slice on pie!!!

Then it was time to do chores ....I think I'll walk down the driveway..

I hope everyone had a wonderful and Healthy ThanksGiving....

Don & I have so much to be thankful about....

your veggie food

Why is people who eat veggie food feel the need to make it look like regular food BUT I MUST SAY YOU DO MAKE A MEAN PIE AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY POTS... remember that's the ratbastard that ate my piece of pie

Well Dec has been a very snowy month so far...With a total of 33" of snow ...

Here's some photos from The Dec 4 snow storm that was 4 days long..
And dumped 15" on us .. LOL The weathermen called for only 3" ..
Boy was he WRONG !!!

Ok HB doesn't have his helmet on yet... But by the time he was finished blowing the drive, and some of you know how long it is..He wished he had it on ...

I take this shot each year..

The snow was getting deep..

Looking from the house deck. My classic shot of our place

Heading sown the driveway to clear the gates..

A little farther down..

Gate opened..I didn't have to go all the way down ,as there nothing for my shovel to do..

OK now to walk back up..

Then I checked the stock..
Dixie and Bingo full brother and sister.. Their Sire(dad) is still with me also..There Dam(mom) Died a few years back .. Lighting strike :'(

This is Annie she was from my top QHBM..And my JR (sire) Who passed away a few years back old age..
He was my baby boy...I miss him alot..

A few of the Cattle..At least they ALL get along with the horses..They are all in close quarters this year..

Then I walked I shot this one..

Then I wanted to check out where we had put another round bale.. That was all gone..

After digging out the gates pushing /moving snow it was time for chores again.. LOL that's a carrot in my hand ... Our old Stallion likes them..

Chores are finished ..I took this from the bucket of the tractor..
Look no hands!!

AH back in the warm house..

I hope you enjoyed your walk in the snow with me...

Tracy

Great pix Tracy, I love your place...I've waiting to read this or "think" it, it's my favorite for this time of year, Robert Frost of course:

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Happy Holidays pal. Give D a big squeeze from all of us, and take one for yourself.

I love that B...

Very fitting for today too...
The shortest day of the year !!!

We did get to see a glimpse of the Lunar eclipse

Well we got up at 2:30 am we had a light cloud cover spitting light snow , But at 3:10 the moon would barely peek in and out..
We hung outside till 3:20 ...
Got to see a grand deep orange orb ...
And then the clouds blotted it out again ..

Well I was glad we got out to ride on Jan 6th... As we have been snowed in
again ever since...
The total of snow fall since Dec 4th.. is 67" and counting..
All I can say is thank goodness it's NOT all on the ground right now.. Just about 8" left.. The cool thing is the driveway is almost clear enough to get a bike out ...

I will be posting some more RR's ... Stay tunes

Might be a stupid question but what's the "paperwork" for? Proof?... for who or what?

The paperwork proof and $$$ is for the IBA ..(Iron Butt Asso.)
So they can prove your route, and then send you a sticker, license plate holder, and a doc that is suitable for framing and a Member's number...
I hope that helps.....

Sorry I did see your post sooner... Thanks for the bump..

I have to get cracking on my RR's... Winter has been a bear ...

We have been having strange tracks on the farm...

A few weeks ago we heard
What sounded like a Howl at night...
Now we know what coyotes sounds like and this was NO coyote..
The last few weeks, I have found some tracks..
Now there are NO big dogs in our area...
So we did a little investigative reporting and found out...
That the Gov. had released Wolves in our area...

Don saw his first set of tracks the other day...
I saw a few sets already with my walks in the woods, looking for dead trees to cut down...

Well the other day I was walking ... And this time I had my camera!!
Note the shape of this print,it's nothing like a dog and to big for a coyote of fox.....Plus it's way to pointy..

Look at how big this print it...This is a fresh print in hard pack ..So no spreading in soft snow..

The width is right too...

I walked off the stride of the Wolf track, and it has a 6 1/2 ft - 7 ft. stride!! ...

It's kinda of cool.. But now we have to really watch tha cows when they calve..Soon like in the next few weeks... They should be syn.. so all should calve with in a week of each other....

I just wanted to share, it's a strange feeling when you see one for the first time in the SouthEast !!
As you know right away it's NOT a dog....

LOL what's next Big Foot !!!

My Gosh I love my mountain....
Here's a nice sun set for ya'll
Yes we do have a nice slice of heaven on earth!!

I took these the other evening.....

January sunsets can be a site to behold !!!
