BMW GS Trophy Challenge Update:

The Facebook voting ended Friday night and we now know the three finalist going on to South America 1. Carlo 2. Ryan 3. Chad. Unfortunately I did not make the cut.

Thanks for everyone's support and all the votes.

PS A big thanks to Loftus and everyone else that helped put on a great BWDR campout. Put me on the IN list for next year.

Andrew, I'm truly very sorry that it didn't work out for you...this year. We'll be back in 2014. Everyone knew Carlos was a shoe in as well connected as he is with so many followers on his Go Penguin website! I feel bad for Dan as well. He is a kick ass rider and a true gentleman, humble and reserved the entire weekend. I wonder if it's rigged at all...You know, BMW taking the "recommendations" from the performance center staff and the RawHyde folks out west as to who would be a good, well-animated, face for the GS Trophy...I still think the whole voting thing is absurd. Send the best riders, period! End of story! P.S. I need some stickers, no rush at all.

Rick, Ditto what everyone else has said...it's the company and the scenery, not always the road. I love street riding, relaxing cruising in the mountains, fast peg grinding and dirt riding, but 99% of riding is always better with friends unless it's one of those Zen "I want to ride and relax alone" days. Personally, I HATE long flat boring gravel (i.e. Irish Creek Rd/Panther Falls) and Coffey Town Rd where it's pavement with gravel on top is even worse! It scares the crap out of me! But it's much better with friends!

There is still room for this weekends small bike ride! Let me know...

I never met Christian, may he rest in peace.

Bridge Day is Saturday Oct 20. Just sayin.

Sorry about the news Andrew. I'm with Eddy -- the FB voting thing is lame on a number of counts, but here's to 2014!

Evil Juice

Thats it !!! Thats the stuff I was talking about !!! That evil red fruit in the glass jars !!!
It tasted great but I guess I was in too many lines as it was passed along. Ouch

Andrew ..... sorry to hear about the Challenge. I think next year we will give them another run for their money. It was great riding with you at the BWDR.

Thanks again Loftus for a great time! I still owe you $10.

Hey Dan ..... what does it mean when you say "Hope you don't chuck it yet.. Take at least one decent ride first" ??

Hello all. Long time no talk. I started riding motorcycles a few years ago on an '84 XL350R, but soon sold it for an '07 SV650 which I still currently have. I love the bike, but my cousin just bought a new Honda 250L Dual Sport. It's got me craving some off road/on road goodness again. What I'm wondering is for those in Richmond, how many good off road riding trails are there here. I'm afraid I'll give up my fun street bike, and not have a lot to ride locally. Please give me some insight. Thanks. Good to be posting here again, and not just stalking peoples ride reports.

Oh, and since it's been so long since I've posted here's some updated photos of the current bike.

And not quite ADV, but...

Andrew, sorry to hear you didn't get voted IN. I too feel the format for deciding was not the best. Hope you make it next year and congrats on earning the honor to be a finalist.

Count me in for a RVA sticker when I see you all next.
