Oyster Festival

Count me in on the Oyster festival. Since Im on the north side of town I will meet everyone at the I-64 rest stop at 10 am. I am assuming the rest area is on the EAST bound side of I-64?

The weather is looking great. A little on the chilly side with a high in the upper 50's but lots of sunshine. RTE lunch at the festival sounds like a great idea. Since the wife now has heated gear I may be able to talk her into going as well.

I guess today is a day to clean up after the storm. The yard is calling me. Have a great day everyone.

Talked with my youngest son this morning, he's in Marlinton, WV. He said they had a few inches in Marlinton, but haven't had power for over 24 hours. He said from what he heard Shoeshoe has 24" and it is still piling up. The weather man claims it should stop sometime tomorrow.

You guys have fun on the Friday RTE. I can't get away from the office, so it will be Saturday with a cage for me.

Halloween

3,200 individual pieces of candy. 70lbs in four large grocery bags. (Yes, I weighed it). You don't want to know how many hundreds of $$ it cost. I figure if I divvy out three small pieces per kid ... I might just have enough for tonight. Maybe.

You'll have 10 kids show up at the door, then YOU will have to eat the rest.

I've already been trying. Last year, when it was raining, we had around 800 kids. I actually ran out of candy. (Only had three large bags full). I'm figuring with the nice weather outside right now ... !!!!!!!!!!

Looks like you bought the good stuff. No wonder you get so many kids coming around.

Candy

Goodness Rick......
Im getting a lot of kids tonight but I certainly hope I don't see 800. Two large bags and a regular bag of Smarties is all I have. I've got to stop eating the candy while I'm watching the news.

We had closer to 50 last year, if even that many..... even with some of them being "trucked in" from surrounding neighborhoods.

It varies from year-to-year, so who knows how many will be hitting the door this time.

My wife handles all of that. I don't have the patience to put up with all the little $hits..................

We love Halloween. We've been here 7 years so it's fun to see the kids around here growing up. We only get about 50 kids and most are my kids classmates, so my wife spoils them with Snickers, Milky Way's, Reeces Peanut Butter cups, cool pencils and such. We go all out in the front yard with a fake cemetery, 5 smoke machines, music, fake spider webs, stobe lights and rubber rats
Lynn is dressed as a nice witch with a hot pink wig. I dress up each year all in black with a black cape and a really creepy latex mask and scare them as best I can. The best ones are when I scare the poop out of the 13-15 year old boys that are trying to be cool in front of the girls!
I've cut myself off, I am about to go into a diabetic coma if I eat another chocolate bar...
