Thanks to Jimmy for the assist with the HF table lift!! Heavy thing.

Unfortunately, it's a piece of shit. Went up about 1/3 of the way, and then ... pfft. Went down and won't go back up. Has oil. I bled the thing till my leg was tired. No go. Put it on its side and I can work the scissors action like the hydraulics bottle wasn't there. Moves completely easily. And of course, the nice girl from India was no help -- apparently they only do technical support by email, and there is a 24-48 hour lag time before an answer. Grrr.

That sucks Rick. Unfortunately, you can get a bad product anywhere you go these days.

Altho' I didn't chime in and make comment - OR - make a recommendation, the words of MOB keep ringing in my ears:

I looked at the ones from HF, but just didn't feel comfortable with the overall looks of its construction. The one I did settle on is a Panther. It certainly wasn't a cheapie, but it also wasn't the most high $$ one out there either. I knew it would be used almost everyday, and rarely it doesn't go up and down less than 10 times on the days I do use it. I hope their customer service makes it right. 300# is a hellava load to be carrying back and forth to the store to get a good one.

I agree. The only problems I've had with my HF lift have been of this variety.

LOL!

Which is why I elected to get the side extensions (admittedly an afterthought) for mine:

First time I rolled the Connie up there, the sidestand was almost in mid-air when I put it down. Hmmm?, this ain't gonna work. Ordered the extensions the next day. Problem solved, and no regrets.

Make no mistake, I still cover the entire top up from time to time.

Also modified the front stop with hinges so I could flop it out of the way to roll a front wheel straight out of the forks. Works great:

Jimmy came across me on the trail. We rode around a bit and just as I was getting ready to leave we came across everyone else. Eddy had the skid plate from his GS strapped to the luggage rack. If I was in the market for a used GS, I had have to negotiate the price down based on that.

I must of missed everyone at the meetup by a minute or two.

Stupid root. As I was trying to get out the gully, the rear kept skidding back in. This was the end result.

That looks like the very spot I got the KLR hung up in a couple of years ago. I couldn't lift that heavy mother outta there for nothing. Fortunately, I was riding with Greg and he came back down the hill and we got it out.

It was a cool day, but after that I was sweating like a mo-gator.
