P.S. After all that trash talk down at the PC you bought an 800???? But really they seem like great bikes, perfect for the more tech stuff that's for sure.

Currently scouting out routes on Mapquest. On Saturday there is a 30% chance of snow in Natural Bridge. Will play it by ear but I am thinking of doing an overnight trip this Saturday. It wouldn't be a big deal off road but the pavement ride up and back could be sketchy...
I need to ask Steve Anderson first as it's his gig, but I was thinking of giving the people the option of going alone or in groups of two or three by handing out rally style routes and coordinates on Friday night and then having one of us sweep the route after the last rider has left. That way, everybody gets to run at their own pace, not the pace of the slowest rider and we don't have 15 DS bikes riding within 300 yards of each other.
***Would anybody be up for a overnighter this weekend? I'll be the first one to wimp out and recommend spliting a hotel room if it's going to be 22 degrees and sleeting and snowing...If you really want me to sound like a wimp, I'll also toss out the offer to load two bikes into my truck all in the name of "Saving the Knobbies" of course! If I take the truck, I will be taking the DRZ.

Andrew, the only "trash talking" I did about the F800 was that I was pissed that they threw me on a bike I had never been on to compete against great riders like Dan Farson and Carlos that had tens of thousands of miles on the F8. You don't believe that I don't have a "secret plan" for moving to the 800 do you!? I am pretty good on the R1200 but I want to become a good 800 rider as well. Summer of '14 and the next GS Trophy Challenge will be here soon! Why do you think I am taking the class at the BMW PC in two months on the 800?!

So everybody in Richmond is volunteering to help scout the spring fling route. Sounds like a mass case of Late Winter Ride Jones. Yeah, I'm in too.

Friday calling for low 60's and mostly sunny.. might be a good day to put the R back in RTE.

Eddy, We'll be out of town skiing at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in PA...leaving Thursday and returning Monday. Won't be able to join you on the scouting session this weekend, but up for it in the future.

Joe's Inn has been around a long time. One of my favorite places when I lived in the Fan and went to VCU. Must still be good.

The wife, daughter and I had lunch the other day at a place called Lunch, on Summit Ave just off of Broad, west of Boulevard. Very tasty. Only seats around 20 people though.

Just throwing suggestions out there. I will be working.

Thanks. A rear rack is definitely next on the list. I need something to mount some soft saddlebags and gear onto so that I can go camping as soon as the weather gets nice. Still not sure which one I want to go with though. There are about 6 different choices out there... Not that I'm complaining.


For Friday's RTE--were you planning on doing lunch or dinner? I could make it out there after 5pm when I'm off work, otherwise I'll have to skip this one.

I have a set of KTM 950 Adventure rotors that I'm going to toss. IIRC, one of them has a slight warp to it. If you want them, or know someone that could use them, lemme know.

RTE has historically been for lunch, with an 11:30 meet up to beat the lunch crowds...... altho' we did do one dinner at Kuba Kuba one night.

Trying to find a place Friday night what with the crowds would be hard.
