Well fook! Make that double-fook!
Since I'll be tied up the rest of week working on other's bikes, figured I'd give my own a once-over prior to heading out next Saturday for the Crab Cakes Ride up in North East, MD.
Checking the rear tire, I found this: ![]() It appears I've run over some glass at some point and it became deeply embedded in the tread. Judging from the surrounding area, it's been in there awhile. Have not lost any pressure, so it hasn't broken all the way through yet. No way in Hades am I heading out on a road trip with a tire like that. I was really hoping these tires would also make it to and from our Spring Fling Rally up in PA in May. Not to be. Dammit Jim! Sheet! Fortunately, I've got tires in the wings so look like a portion of this day will have me changing out the rear tire. NOT, what I wanted to be doing. .

I just got back from an Easter Egg Hunt and now the boy is napping so I have a couple of hours to ride. I guess am going to head West from Midlothian. I don't have much time so i don't know if I will be able to meet up with anyone and get some actual riding in. I will make my transition from Dad to Rider and i will check in on here before departing just in case.

Ready to go now but you live near downtown right? I might just cut through the prison bridge and make a big figure eight out to 522 and back. I don't think I have enough time to explore and try to get lost today. Drives me crazy that all my rides are completely spontaneous these days.

Meat!
This is going to be my dedicated dirt wheel. It's an 18" (vs stock 17) off a dr350s so it's even got a cush hub.. straight swap axle and spacer-wise.
Need a rotor, sprocket and carrier for it, so not quite ready for action, but I'm pretty psyched. Will be nice to be able to quickly swap between dirt and ADV-tour. I won't know what to do with actual traction now, so used to the back end going all over the place.

Eddy, do know what brand of lights are on the back of your F800? I like the really annoying flicker that wouldn't let you ignore them.
Looking at a couple project upgrades for the spring. I'll probably be out for riding for a few weeks and away from dirt through most of April. Scheduled for eye surgery this coming week. Going to remove and paint the exhaust for the WR, reinstall reflectors so I can get it inspected and install auxiliary LED break/turn lights because I feel a bit invisible on it when stopped. I'm also thinking about something like a set of hyperlites for the back of the Wee. Dan, not sure what you will do with traction. Just try not to loop it.

P.S. I hate the weatherman! It's been gorgeous all day! At least the yard looks much better. If its nice tomorrow, we'll be headed to the CCDR track.

Also Eddy, it looks like the bottom is going to drop out here. Riding would be fine but I expect you would of being camping in the wet.

KLR: ![]() Connie: ![]() Both lasted about 2 years, then they took a dump. They replaced both under warranty and those lasted about 2 years, and they croaked too. One more time (for both). Those lasted a year and died. Ain't fookin' with those things any more. YMMV .
