RTE location: Farouks of India in Carytown? Smallish place but great buffet.

I'm working all day Friday again but I'd like to know more about where you all might be riding this weekend.

So long Mike. Only got to meet you once or twice but I hope you'll accept my best wishes anyway! Be sure to take pictures and show us what kind of riding you're doing out there when you finally make it.

Cheers and be safe on the road.

No riding this weekend. It's Easter weekend. I took a liitle heat for going to RawHyde and Mojave last Easter. I was "politely asked" by family to stay put this year. The kids will only go on Easter egg hunts in the front yard for a few more short years, I don't want to miss any more of them!

Note the different colored socks!

P.S. Godspeed Mike!

Ride

April 5-7, western VA and WVA, camp, usual mix of paved and gravel. Gravel could range from graded to not so well graded, but no single track or mud bogs. I'm taking the 650 rat, so nothing too radical, although some of the roads can be very challenging in the spring.

weather forecast is looking good. Don't know what conditions we'll find on some of the gravel, should have local intel next week.

Next ride will be in May, another stab at the Blue Ridge Trail...Front Royal to Mt. Rogers. That ride is not big bike friendly.

PM if interested.

I've kept it a secret because its not 100% till I sign the documents....sell my house, pack my sh*t etc etc etc...but things are rapidly headed in that direction....

Take care Mike. Persoanlly, I an NOT looking forward to seeing pics of your new riding areas. I am jealous already! If Virginia had more public lands I would be okay with it. JK. Anyway, best of luck and my head is still spinning from how fast you packed up and moved out completely.

More details please now that you don't have to kill anyone. I have been thinking about "...that special place..." and I am quite curious if it was your garage, local camping spot or what. It will be a few years at best before I can ride out West, but you will be an excellent local guide by then.

Paging Chuck!

So Chuck, you think your DRZ400 is too small!? Your next bike is waiting in Hopewell! It belongs to Dave Pastorius. Very nice HP2!

Tempting, but I only have about 50 street miles on the 800. I don't even know if I like it or hate it yet...

Cool video of interview with Cyril Despres (if the name doesn't sound familiar, shame on you! He's one of the best Dakar riders ever with ginormous balls that allows him to skim that KTM, soon suspected to be HONDA, across the sand at insane speeds!)

Clich on link and watch bad ass video!: http://www.motorcycle.com/events/ten-questions-with-fivetime-dakar-champ-cyril-despres-91550.html
