Jeff,
Ended up not being the head gasket thank goodness. Was much less serious, but I did end up giving Subaru about $800. I will still miss her though. She was a great car. I'm really missing her now that it's snowing outside. I'm sure the new owner is enjoying her now.

I will get over it when there's a nice replacement vehicle sitting in the garage.

Shameless plug for a buddy

Dr. Beard has an incredibly well preserved BMW 1150 GSA with 7'3xx mi for sale. Only been to Alaska by trailer. Check it out! I know there are a lot of BMW enthusiasts in your area.

Ummmm ... we did. A month or so ago. At Carmike. LOL!

Guess they're trying for a re-showing. Not sure how many folks would go for a second time.

As much as i would like to get out and play on the ice, probably not a wise decision. I've only been off lifting restrictions since Monday and odds are I'd probably drop the bike at some point. The possibility of popping off one of the femoral artery star closures (I now have three) is too great and I could bleed out very quickly. Shenanigans like this will need to wait.... dang-it!

Oh, I know. Studs on bare roads can be like riding on ice. Made for some interesting commutes once stuff started melting.

Anybody know a really good and honest Yamaha tech in the Richmond area? Need some help with my Super Tenere and the only place I know with a good reputation and experience with the Super Ten is Romney in WV.

Might go ahead and take it there but thought I'd ask here first.

Honda House also does Yamaha. I took the FJR there for a tire swap and asked them to pull the drive shaft and lube it and also gave instructions and pictures from an FJR forum. I was told it was not necessary, but I insisted. The guy who rolled the bike out at pickup was the tech who worked on the bike and he said he was surprised how dry and rusted the splines were . He seemed like a guy I would be confident having work on my bike, but I don't remember his name and i doubt I can find the receipt which had his name on it. It probably went with the bike. I doubt anyone there has seen much of the S-10 though.

Speaking of tire swaps, can anyone recommend where to swap shoes for my Tiger? I should try myself, but I have heard the bead is incredibly hard to break on this rear and I don't want to scratch up these black Excel rims.
