TSO, or not.
Not sure if any of you have been to previous TSO concerts, but we came out of there a little disappointed. The overall impression from our group was that this year’s show was a little lame.
We saw them a couple years ago here, and that performance was excellent. The music, the flow of the performance, and the visual displays were outstanding. Last night’s performance – IMHO - didn’t have that. Still a fun evening and a chance to get out of the house, even at the expense of some $$.

BBQ I'd love to make a run after church Sunday, but have an appointment to look at a piece of property for "deer population management and damage control." |

We did a couple of w/e ago. Millie's was the original plan, but they were lined up out the door, so we headed up to Poe's. Two of the party had their BBQ, my wife had their chili, and I had something else (a sandwich of sorts) I don't remember, other than it was really good. The BBQ got a big thumbs up. The chili was good, but too hot for my wife. Waitress tried some from the back and she came back with tears in her eyes. I finished it at home a couple of days later and it was really off the scale. Poifect, for me anyway. Just thought I'd ask. We were doing a little research for a media journalist that works out WQED in Pittsburgh. He's getting ready to start a new project on unusual breakfast places so we thought we'd try Millies and send our findings off.

Hey pplassm,
Will you be roaring past me at the Pipsico VCHSS Hare Scramble on Sunday (like you did last year)? I promise that I'll get out of your way quickly. |

While we are on the subject, anyone know much about the Concealed Handgun permit class at Bass Pro shop in Ashland? It's listed as a 5 hour course tomorrow. Any good? Was thinking about going but are there better options? This will be my 1st class and am also looking into somewhere for training classes as well. Never owned a gun before and want to get all the basics for home protection covered, and lots of practice before considering a purchase. Thanks

http://proactiveshooters.com/ Another place that offers training is Dominion. Their classes are longer (~8 hours), and part of their fee includes the price of ~100 rounds of ammo for hands-on range training. You may have to have your own weapon, however, they rent firearms for use on their range. Call them for additional info. http://www.dominionshootingrange.com/basic.html No affiliation other than being a former shooter there. .
