I'm not a man of many words because I don't have the English for it, but I do want to thank all of you for the support you've extended to my family and myself through your calls, your PMs, and the many kind notes you've passed along in this thread. They are appreciated more than you will even know.

At the time I sent out my original note I was in pain. I know all of you are my extended family and I didn't know where else to turn; I had to get it out. I was pissed, in shock, numb, and in total disbelief. I'm still feeling those same emotions today and they are overwhelming at times. We have found strength in our immediate family, and by the many friends my wife and I have grown to know and love over the years we've been here in Richmond. My wife is a very religious person, so her many church families have been at our side constantly to offer their support and words of prayer.

We have a difficult road ahead getting through all of this. But with friends like you, and them, we will. Thank you all again.

For those of you who may be interested, funeral arrangements have been made through the:

Morrissett Funeral Home
6500 Iron Bridge Rd.
Richmond, Virginia 23234
Phone: 804-767-7826

Visitation will be this Monday, December 7, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m., and a memorial service will be held immediatly afterward.

Connor will be interned at the Virginia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Amelia. Even tho' he wasn't a vet, I am, and that gives him the privilage of that being his final resting place... along side his mother and I when we eventually leave this earth.

In our prayers

I just stumbled across this thread and can hardly breathe. I'm going to go call my son (serving in the Air Force) hug my daughter (probably on the phone in her room) and hit my knees to say a prayer of comfort for your family.

you my friend understand my point, grab your kids, no matter what age they are, hold them close and tell them how much they mean to you, and trust they comprehend what you are doing. None of us can second guess what goes thru their minds, and god help us, even though we have done horendously dumb things while growing into the form we all call "adults", we all do things aprehensible at times.... there is no second chance for those that are adament with a focus we cannot understand. All we can do is to stand there and watch them all grow up. We cannot change what is there in their minds,(to do so would be never accepted anyway) we can only hope to mould and divert them to what we deem as to what we feel is the best dirction to follow(which may not be what they are destined to be..). We all have to let our hiers understand, no matter what course they choose, we will be there to help, and to nurture their dreams....because that is all we can do.

I am now a grandfather, never ever thought I'd be here, having never 'fathered" a child, but thru the magic of marriage, have a son, and recently became 'granpa"...with this, I have to say, opened my eyes once again. My dad always told me to 'shut your mouth, and open you're ears'... "might learn summpin'.."

I finally realized, after all the stupid things I did, and some of them were reallllly stupid, that I might want to see my grandchildren grow up.

I say this with the greatest Love for my brother Guy, and his family...I hold them close to my heart, and stand steadfast for them all.

many times I just wish I could go back 20 years, and have a "do over"

unfortunatly, we don't have that option.

with my greatest love for all, I can say no more.
