I was more intimate with the Garand and the Carbine - altho' I couldn't hit squat with the latter. Got one of these when I was in the "hole in the ground" up in MD.

Once the snow clears and the temps warm up, we'll have a get together.

I dunno, for a fella that got "religious' just a few years back, I have to say, you jumped into the deep end with heavy combat boots....
your "collection" is beginning to make me jelous, and only from the standpoint that I ain't got the bread, and I sold my old toys to feed my dogs.... just kidding man, you been making great buys lately, and I applaud you for it. The toys I sold I reget more than you know, letting go of multiple DCM rifles, for pennies, even tho I know they went to future top marksmen, still has a painfull place in my gut...

so......when are we gonna get out and shoot some, maybe some of my new stuff, and my old stuff......damn, my pal Jimmie was stuffing cases last weekend, and I think I have about 15k rounds sitting empty.... gotta get motivated....and I'm almost there, hell, I only have 18k rounds of loaded ammo......

Meeting turned out to be very informative, with a nice refresher course in Civics and how the "system" works thrown in. All the Bills currently in Session were gone over and where they sat as of last night (today is "Crossover" Day).

I arrived and decided I was going to get something to eat and shared a table with another fella, who turned out to be a rider. Another local fella who was with us on the January ride came in and joined us.

We're sitting there chatting and a fella at an adjoining table reaches his hand over and sez "I've been to your house." I didn't recognize him until he said something. He is a rider and a local COG member. Then finally, after the meeting another gentlemen walks up and sez, "You're Guy Young, aren't you?" Uh, yeah. Turns out he was also a COGger who had moved up here from Texas a number of years ago and has been an on and off again member of COG since it's very first rally in Cody, WY back in the early '90s.

COG has always kidded about having a "Security Squad" made up of some of the larger fellas in the Group, but I'm here to tell you it is real. We really DO have a Security Squad - because we can.

It was a good night. A very good night.

Kinda silly if you ask me. I think they could have thought of something better.

Of course, the schools who submitted requests (without the cash incentive) did not get the injun.

One of the stupidest things I've ever heard of.

Absolutely idiotic.

this weekend

So since we have highs of 50 or better this weekend and no predicted blizzard, who is going riding. I need to get out of the house. Last weekend I did get out for an hour but spent the rest of time with my dog. He went to sleep on Monday morning. If I hang around the house this weekend I'll just spend the whole time reflexively looking around for my lost friend.

So I ask again, who is riding and where are we going?

Looks like there'll be some riding this weekend.

The first one, in Feb., will start out in Gordonsville, VA. We will meet at the Inwood Restaurant (540-832-3411) on Route 15, just north of the roundabout in Gordonsville, VA, at 9 AM Sunday morning February 21st. A ride will follow, weather permitting. Hope for blue skies and clean roads; this is normally the coldest ride of the year. Got electrics?

Sorry to hear about your dog, I'd miss my guys too. You should check it out.
