Sorry to hear that, Sir. Hope everything is alright.

Germany sucks these days, anyway. I hear you can't smoke at Oktoberfest, so all the stale beer and puke stink up the joint.

We're very sorry to hear this, but you have your priorities right! We'll be thinkng of you both and hope it all heals quickly. Don't worry about Germany, it will be there when she is well enough for you both to go. Hope this is all a short term thing.

As others have said, if you need anything, all you have to do it ask. You have an entire extended family here who would love to help if needed.

I'll set them out on the pig-nic table for the late arriving guests....hehehehehh

Hi Jeff! Fancy seeing you here...

New bike... well, new to me. After an exhaustive craigslist search and a spreadsheet totalling over 100 bikes, I picked up a 2002 Yamaha TT-R 225.

Looking for places / people to go trail riding with. Am responsible, respectful, moderately mechanically apt... which means I'm probably not a good fit for you buncha FF's!

Am located in Wake, VA 23176.

True. I'm trying to find the perfect two bikes and I am now back to the WRR (Had the WRX) and I think it will fit good with the Versys. I haven't ridden the Versys in a while because I've been working at nite and I'm afraid of the deer when coming home. Does anyone else worry about it or am I being paranoid?

John, don't think it hasn't crossed my mind. It'd be the best way to get out to some trails in the mountains... short of buying a GS. HAR!

Mango, that'd be great! Have been riding street for years but this is my first dirt bike. I was looking hard for a WR but couldn't find any in my (low) price range. Will send you a PM.

You're not paranoid. Really.

I've had three friends and one brother victimized by deer. My brother twice.

I've also seen one friend tagged by a hoof. In broad daylight (1300).

They're a real problem.

Anybody got any suggestions?

No, you're right to be concerned. Doesn't take much of a deer at all to completely trash your bike, even if you are lucky enough to walk away...

Jeremy, hope the wife get's better soon!

Thanks everyone

Thanks for the support.

Found out yesterday that they are going to do surgery. We have not yet managed though to actually get it scheduled though. I think the Doc was in the army. Hurry up and wait. We don't have any details on what they plan on fixing with the surgery though. The Doctor's assistant didn't have any details. I'm thinking of making a nice call to them and ask WTF.

On a bike related note

Did actually find an hour to go ride this evening. It was the first time in a week I felt awake enough to be on the road, hospitals are tiring even if your not the patient. As I was riding I wondered what that noise was when I accelerated? Happened to figure it out when I got home. My chain has lengthened quite a bit in a short amount of time (~750 miles) and managed to be loose enough that I could push it and it touch the bottom of the swing arm. Guess it is time for a new one. Need to get a center stand too so I actually oil the new one often enough.
