I do get a little charge out of pulling it out of the case and pushing those fat rounds into the magazine.

I always wanted a single shot 45/90 or better. Long range play plinking on steel. Lob in some adobe walls type shots for fun. I have the place to do it back home.
Karl,

You should come out to our range and shoot one of our long range metallic cartridge matches sometime!

Closest target is 200 yards (if memory serves me right)... all with open sights!

I'd do a range day. The 45/70 is currently optically enhanced, so is the 7 mag, uh and the Contender 7/30 Waters. The 7/30 is fun at that distance. I don't know if I am though match ready though. I'd talk about it though.

Not sure why I hadn't thought of this sooner...

If y'all are interested, I could try to set up an ADV Range Day at the shooting club. It would require some coordination, but we'd have opportunities to shoot just about everything in your gun safe. We have several ranges, including 22 cal, handgun, standard high power rifle, muzzleloader, all the way out to our 500 yard range.

I need to schedule a meeting w/ the president anyway, so I could ask about hosting a group of ADV hooligans as well as my regular folks.

I would be interested as well, if the invitation is extended down to Tidewater.

Is there a single pump, Daisy BB gun range? It's really pisses off the squirrels in the front yard when I rain fire down on them from the upstairs bathroom window! It's pretty accurate up to around 20 feet. I really need to replace the guns my wife convinced me to sell when we brought our first baby home. Sigh...

That must be "large bore Rifle" range layout eh?
200 to 500 yds ?

I shot IHMSA for a few years (before I got old, and started going blind), in the Large Bore Pistol class, that was a 200yd Ram, with the chicken @ 50yds, all full scale targets.....

Man I would love to slam some steel plates again .....the .445 Supermag was made specifically for it.....heheheh,

Okay, looks like we might have a few guys interested.

I'm traveling for work right now, but when I get back in town next week I'll check into organizing a group event for us.

Well 300 yds is the farthest I've plinked with any accuracy. Of course Jimmy's kid is just getting started at that range. Apparently.

Nah... he's good out to about 300 or so, but drops off after that. He's still a heckuva lot better that I was at his age.

Any locals headed to BYOB in Marlington, WV in June?

Right now, the dates work for me. I might enjoy making that trip.
