"Government sponsered piracy" or "County Bounty Hunter" as I like to call it.

No offense intended Chris.

I gotta say this........

As ridiculous as some laws seem to us, including speed limits that appear too low, inspection due dates, no passing zones when you can see 1 mile in front of you, etc., they are still the law. You break the law and get caught, you pay the piper.

I'm no angel by any stretch of the imagination, but when I knowingly broke a law and got caught, shame on me and I paid the fine. It's the way it works. Don't like the law, petition your law makers to get it changed. If there was a legitimate question about the offense and you know you were in the right, you take it court and plead your case.

Have to agree with Guy. Any time I've gotten nabbed it was because I was breaking the law. Remember, it is only illegal if you get caught. Don't do it if you'll get caught and if you get caught, you gotta pay to play.

I'm frustrated at myself for not realizing my sticker expired on 12/31. But still, he could have said to himself "this guy has a 26 year old clean driving record, I'll give him until Monday"
No sense in letting it fester and get to me, he did was he was hired to do...

Being the vehicle maintenance guy in this household, I missed getting a vehicle inspected awhile back. Unfortunately, it wasn't me who got nabbed in said vehicle, it was my wife. She was NOT a happy camper.

On the inspection and paperwork related things though, I have to admit I think most of them are purely revenue driven and feel it is just another form of tax.

I do believe inspection is a good thing as a hue number of people give no thought to the safety of their vehicle. On the other hand, it is used by service stations as a way to hit us up for unneeded services every year.

I also believe the insurance requirements to be a good thing but unfortunately there is a huge issue with irresponsible uninsured drivers. Of course, I also don't want the government to try to fix it as I think the fix might e worse than what we have now.

Other bureaucratic items like registration get to be a pain, such items as most of the DMV related stuff is unnecessarily overly complicated and could be streamlined.

Ok enough rambling. The cop could of easily et you off with a warning about the inspection. Of course, being 2 weeks overdue is a bit much.

Inspection does not affect record.. Go to court and explain you are a multi vehicle family and it slipped your mind.

As Happy as a fly in poo...

Not sure if that is the proper way to describe the following images, but think it would come damn close to it.

Eddy adjusting his valves..

Thanks Guy, I had a lot of fun, and more importantly, I learned a bunch today and gained some confidence!

Five sure signs in the pictures that prove I am not a real mechanic...
1. The factory service manual is never more than an arms length away.
2. My hands are WAY too clean.
3. Dress shoes?!
4. Way too excited and happy to be adjusting my valves.
5. Only one empty beer bottle on the bike lift.
