Radiated Spectre emissions have been known to affect urine test results. Better get rid of that detector now.

Trust ya'll had a good ride??

Betty tried to coerce me into going, but I have a lot of stuff I need to get done. Made good progress and about to raise some (very heavy) steel into place.

Took my youngest out to Charles City MX track today for some thrashing. Had a great time, and she loved it. She was getting more air off the jumps than I was.

I had a blast... very scenic ride!

Here's a picture - it's like a modern day "Washington Crossing the Delaware" except the weather is good, everyone is happy, and they check your bike for contraband before you are allowed on the boat.

On PBS now

Celtic Woman's Songs from the Heart. They just did a rendition of O'America that was to die for. Very nicely done.

EDIT: They just did Amazing Grace, and I totally lost it.

Dayam!!!

We had a good ride and it was good to see fellow ADV'ers. I'm glad you came along Mitch! We were definately in the minority out there today. It seemed like 90% of the other bikes were either sport bikes with a lot of chrome and "phat" rear tires or garden variety Harley's.
The GSX1100 ran great! I had to let her strech her legs once!

Would anybody be in on a full day ride in a couple of weeks? I'll check with my "boss" and see how the family schedule looks. I was thinking about heading west and doing either the 39 Goshen Pass/220 N to Montery and back down 250 loop or maybe some of the roads around Wintergreen and Montibello. There's a hole in the wall place up there called the Blue Ridge Pig that does a good sandwich!

P.S. Mitch, they only check you for contraband if you ride a black and chrome bike and wear leather chaps! They didn't bother US!

Eddy Thanks for leading the ride. Had a great time even though it doesn't look it in the picture.

I would be all in for a all day ride if it is on a Sat. Sun mornings my wife teaches a class that eliminates anything on Sunday.

I hope you found at least one picture you can keep on the disk.

It was a pleasure to finally meet some Richmond ADVer's.

Had a god ride today guys.

Here is another photo from the ferry.

Eddy, I would love to do an all day ride out west. I was just thinking that the mountains should just about be thawed out.

Oh and Mitch, you were the only one searched for contraband. That must be why Eddy sold that bike.

I would have enjoyed a ride today. Ended up working on getting the LC4 to run. It's alive. So they check for contraband crossing the James River? What contraband? Smithfield Bacon? I love 39 west.

Hehe... the guy really didn't check for much and I think he may have just wanted a better look. I flipped open the lids of my saddlebags, I didn't uncover or remove anything, and that was it. He asked me "do the pistons go side-to-side?" and I was on my way.

I'd like to do an all-day trip somewhere/anywhere. Any day other than a Monday would probably work. I rode out to Charlotte Court House on Saturday (288 -> 360 for an hour) and that was pretty... you can also catch 460 to Roanoke.

I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Mitch

Mitch, stop thinking big roads. There is plenty of fun to be had on the smaller roads. Superbowl Sunday I took random back roads south from Petersburg. I turned around after I made it to the next state.

Main roads tend to be boring and only have chain restaurants. Don't worry though, this bunch can cure you of this.
